Every Year the Dart Kart Club races at Daytona last week of December between Christmas and New years. I was down there last year, but didn't have the time to do it, so I am trying to put together a family trip. I don't have the equipment to haul to FL, however I have a opportunity to either rent or I know 2 people that are going down that can haul my equipment for a fee.  Having 3 family trips to FL, I know they extract every dollar out of us out of towners so I am trying to  find a affordable way.  Last year I was luck and we were able to stay at a friends bnb for the cleaning fee but unfortunately there place is already booked. I have never sat through a timeshare presentation to get the cheap rate, but thought that might be a option. I wouldn't be a buyer in what ever they are selling, but wasn't sure if that really works and if I can get a room for my family during peak days in December? Any other thoughts to make a affordable vacation? (FYI nobody wants to watch me race or go to the track.)

Dont flirt with the timeshares. Its not worth the headaches. There should be plenty of affordable places to stay nearby, either in daytona or surrounding areas. Im in Deland to the west of daytona, its not as touristy as daytona and we have plenty of hotels.

The one I found was $199 for 4 days in Orlando. Hard to beat it
