My brother in-law came upon a herd of deer standing in the middle of the road the other night. I will say that he destroys a car every few years and put most of the blame on him for this one too. He drives like an idiot and has ZERO skills behind the wheel to warrant the way he drives. My guess was texting, FB, music or some other distraction was to blame, but I’m just glad he didn’t hit another car.
Ok, enough of my rant. The “deer killer” was his 2013 Ford Taurus SHO and it doesn’t look good! My question is, if totaled, is it worth anything to buy back? I know nothing about them but guys do seem to like the platform and driveine.

That is the turbo 6, right?
It's worth something, but the buyback value will determine if it is worth pursuing.

I would buy it back and put something old on the floorpan
That looks repairable. The damage is up high, well over the frame rails, so it doesn't look like there is frame damage.
The internet tells me that a 2013 SHO has a retail value of about $13k. My unprofessional guess is there is $7k worth of damage, maybe less. This will probably be fixed by insurance.
If he owes more than $13k on the car he would really wants it fixed or he could find himself in an upside down position where what the insurance company gives him is not enough to pay off the loan and therefore he has to come up with cash quickly and this still leaves him with no car.
I am assuming no airbag went off and the radiator is not busted.

IIRC everything damaged unbolts, too.
