Just asking as I have the idea for the multi media platform RallyX "shootout/challenge/ok nobody will be taking it seriously"
Pitting Raphael Orlove and his Baja Beetle, Ryan Symancek and his EJ20 swapped 2.5 versus a GRM project at a regional rallyx, maybe one of the Carolina group events or a WDCR event in 2015.
Looking through this page:
http://grassrootsmotorsports.com/project-cars/
Nothing seems to be explicitly set up for it, but I could see using one of these on a rallycross:
- Beetle TDI
- Focus SVT
- Ridgeline, if they'd let it on the course
I don't think it would happen, but seeing the M235i or 911 on course would be hilarious.
We wanted to rallycross our Miata race car, but the lack of a hardtop prevented that. The Beetle is probably the most rallycross-able car we have right now, barring trucks and stuff like that.
I checked the project cars, but didn't see anything current that looked like they'd likely want to take to the dirt.
the beetle would be interesting, especially going up against a Baja Beetle.

If you guys ever wanted to join a central Florida rallycross event (they come to St Lucie), I'd be willing to share my miata hard top for the day.

If you're Evan, throw a turbo in a '90 and win Rallycross Nationals with mostly stock suspension.
If you're me, find 10 in springs, throw them on an STR Miata with Rivals, and place 15/47 (2nd of all RWD) at my first event.
Any Miata'll be fine. Let's prove that it's the ultimate answer!
And as I recall MACH V is close to the D.C region
Yes, come to a Carolina event.
