Does this look decent or lame?

I hate gray cars, but I bought my Sonic in Gray because it was $3000 cheaper than any Sonic I could find in an actual color.

Needs color! Then this 2016 red spoiler pops up on Craigslist for $65. I couldn't resist.

What do you think?

Keep it, although it reminds me a bit of the red mirrors on the Nismo Juke. I like it and think it provides some noce contrast.

Not a fan. We had two on the dealer lot with a package that did something similar, a white one with Inferno Orange mirrors, grille surrounds and spoiler, and a Victory Red one with silver mirrors, grille surrounds and spoilers. Both sat on our lot for almost 2 years and ended up selling with a $9000 discount just to get rid of the freakin' things.

I like it. Try to add a couple other small red accents to tie it all together.

looks fine ... bigger question ... does it do ANYTHING for keeping the rear window "cleanish"

GM has figured out how to make the absolutely worst ... having trouble coming up with words to say what I mean .... getting old makes this tough ...

design for keeping the back end clean on a hatch back design that I've ever seen ...

no problem at all with my Integra (but that hatch is very steeply sloped)

but I don't remember any of my other Honda hatches .... some more upright than others ... some as straight up and down as the Sonic

but damnit the Sonic is terrible for the reverse air flow

it that spoiler helps to push some of the that air away from the car, I'd put one on regardless of the looks

but, without more pics, I'd say it looks fine

I like it, +1 for red mirrors and colored wheels. A red bowtie might be a bit ricey though

just took a closer look and it looks like the OEM spooler that came with my car (color matched) ... so to answer my question myself ... not going to help

I like. If nothing else, it will now be easier to find in parking lots and parking garages filled with similar gray cars.

I suggested vinyl in another thread but you dismissed it as a bad idea for your desert climate. Though, I still think a tasteful side stripe would be a nice compliment.

Yes, this is a picture of a Spark and though the whole car itself is too over the top there are two elements that I like.
I really like the red applied to the top of the window frame. An interesting way to add contrast without being garish.
I also like the simple line at the lower door.
It seems that similar could be done to the Sonic.

The red makes it look like you're trying too hard. That would look good in matte or semigloss black.

Not t eh whole wheel, just paint the outer lip RED. Subtle, ties the two colours together, doesn't over state.

I like it, agree that adding a couple more accents to tie it all together.

Word of caution, cars that are "asphalt" colored seem to get hit more than any other color. Adding something to grab other drivers' attention is a measure of self preservation.

This was my thought. I like accents on cars but not ones that scream "look at me I am a want to be rice boy." Unless that is the look you want. Black or a burgundy would be my first choices.

no, i don't know how or where or with whom that practice started, but i've been posting pictures of my cars online since the 90's and nobody has ever showed up at my house or stolen one of them.

Your car is not grey it us a gun metal metallic. I actually really like that color.

Grey is much lighter. I think of a dull silver. The color that most of the fords were painted in the 80's. It was the definition of Dull and boring. Your car has that euro stealth look that I think is really cool. I would enhance that and not go with that red bit on its back side.

Needs an A-Team van stripe on the side of the car to go with it.

No, not that. Not a fan of black wheels here. And I like grey with red accent, but not black with red accent.

I do like the red spoiler - looks cool. Definitely keep that. Consider painting the mirrors red to match, or maybe a red front lip?

One last thing to at least look at in Photoshop - try it with the mirrors a nice primary yellow. Grey main color with a few primary red and primary yellow highlights can be a nice combination. But whatever you do, limit it to just 1 other item. Don't go overboard.
