Is there a good place to donate old college text books?  I have some engineering related books that I've been lugging around from house to house for about five years now and I've never taken a second look at them.  I figure its time to finally get rid of them, but if they can go to good use instead of recycling I'd rather do that.  The local library isn't interested and they're past their prime for selling to the text book buyers.  Any suggestions?

A friend of mine made a nice profit selling surplus donated books on E bay.

If they're like computer science books, they have little to no value (er, intrinsic or monetary) as they keep getting changed and students need the new version.

I'm afraid I can't think of much outside of getting them to folks who want to do some independent study, but I'm not sure how to do that. Goodwill? https://littlefreelibrary.org/?

Listing them on ebay will fairly quickly establish if there's a market for them or not.

Yeah, if no ebay then toss them in the paper recycling bin
