Wally man you have got to be a blast to hang out with. I feel like you need a radio call in show or maybe a live streamed podcast call in show whatever they would call that.

Having done my time in retail, I firmly believe that EVERYONE should be required to do 5 years in customer service.

Oh gawd no please. I worked at an auto parts store for 6 months years ago and that was too long for me. And customers weren't the only source of frustration, some were actually kinda fun. The backstabbing co-workers and company quotas on junk seemed more frustrating to me. Left there to teach aircraft maintenance at a small trade school. That was fun but pay sucked. Have been fortunate and never worked food industry.

As with customer service, I think everyone should be required to work in the service industry (waiting tables / bartending) before they are allowed to go out to eat or drink.  It never ceases to amaze me when people are rude to those that are bringing them things they will ingest.

Trust me on this.......you don't want to be rude to your bartender, or server..... besides  being a jerk, bad, bad things can happen to your food and drink.   Being nice is easy, unfortunately some people think  "hey, I'm paying for this meal, I can be rude if I want to be"   Go ahead pal...........go ahead......they will get the last laugh at your expense.

Be friendly, have empathy for those working their asses off to be sure you have a nice day, and tip well.  (20% or more for good service)   Do this and people will be happy to see you when you return, and you'll have a much  better experience.  Tipping an extra $5, or even $3 can really lift someones' spirits..... and pay dividends later on.   And are you really gonna miss that five bucks?
