Ford Pinto and Mercury Bobcat

Chevy S-10 and Isuzu Hombre

Dodge Grand Caravan and VW Routan

Chevy Suburban and Caddy 'Slade

Nissan Armada and Infiniti QX56

It may be easier to name a car that doesn't have a twin now...

Oh the biggest sin now is the Grand Cherokee, Durango, and the ML350(?), IMO.

Alfa 164, Lancia Thema, Fiat Croma and Saab 9000. One example of pretty different cars from the same chassis!

GM was famous for having a Chevy (Celebrity) a Buick (Regal) and an Olds (Cutlass Sierra) and Pontiac (6000) that were almost the same. Cadillac luckily was left out of the horrid A body list.

The J body was not so lucky, with:
* Chevrolet Cavalier
* Cadillac Cimmaron
* Buick Skyhawk
* Pontiac 2000/Sunbird
* Oldsmobile Firenza

Same thing with the G8. It was the Holden Commodore.

I love the shared DNA type cars as the parts hunter that I am loves a bargain. A recent project Mercury Mountaineer was needing some parts. Being unable to find them at the Pick and Pull as it seems these parts self destruct quickly (cruise control buttons) I went online and discovered that new and better parts were available. Mountaineer part was $130-$170 dollars but if I found the same part number for an Explorer this part was $60-$90!! The same part was used on a couple of years in the Ranger and could be found for $30-$60!!

I think that any more, finding the unique cars would be the trick!

Didn't the Aztek become a Sonoma or Bravia or something like that?

Grand Am and Cavilier are really close. Geo Tracker and the Pontiac Sunrunner and the Suzuki Vitara/Sidekick/Samuri/Grand Vitara and others are closely related.

The revived GTO was a Monaro.

I also submit the Eldorado/Olds Toronado from the EARLY days. Saw the olds in a lot once and was REALLY confused as to why the caddy had the wrong hood ornament on it.

Back on the subject of Doppelgangers, we also have the Ford Fusion, Mercury (RIP) Milan and the Lincoln Zephyr/MK-Z.... all of which are clones of themselves and stablemates to the Mazda 6.

Nissan Frontier/Suzuki Equator

GM B-Bodies: Chevy Caprice/ Chevy Impala/Olds Delta 88/ Olds 98/ Buick Lesabre/ Buick Electra/ Caddy Fleetwood/ Pontiac Parisienne/ Pontiac Bonneville...

Hell, I give up with GM. Their divisions are just clones of each other at this point for the most part!

In fact, come to think of it, it's more unique for a car NOT to have a clone than to be a one-off.

Actually that would be the Celebrity, Ciera, Century, and 6000.

Also earlier someone mentioned that the Samurai = Tracker. Actually the Sidekick = Tracker, not the Samurai.
