I was at a beach resort this weekend and the cabana guys were using cordless drills and large augers bits to dig the sand to place an umbrella.
Just wondering if anyone has one of these or any recommendations for what bit to get? I found one as seen below which is a pretty good deal so I think I might just order this.

I used a plastic auger that is hollow so you can then just clamp your umbrella into it. No drill needed.
It looks like this:
It works great. I go to the OBX with the family a bit and this one has not pulled out of the ground in a steady 15 mph wind.
Ever watch the cabana boys set up the big commercial umbrellas for customers. Jam it in the ground and rock it back and forth as it continues to go lower and lower. Works real well, and requires no tools.
They have a big boy version of those the linemen use if a pole has to go up quick. Screw it in, clamp broken off pole, then fire it up.
if it works for that, it'll hold up an umbrella.
My beach umbrella has an auger built into the base.
