Inspired by the Michigan meetup thread, I thought I would see if there was any interest in doing some sort of eastern Pennsylvania GRM-a-palooza. I know there are a few GRMers around but Im not sure where the concentration is. Scranton? Allentown? Philly? I assume Im the only GRMer in Wayne County .
I moved out to PA a couple years ago and travel a ton for work so I haven't had a chance to get into the regional car guy scene. My activities have been limited to Chump races at Watkins and Pittsburgh along with a couple Pocono track days. I figured I would see what the interest level is for a meetup and what suggestions there were for locations.
Also, I need a PA native to explain to me why in the world Yocco's is so popular and before anybody asks I am team Sheetz.

I'm in Birdsboro, east of Reading. There has been talk of get together's at RobMopar's shop in downingtown in the past and nobody showed (I was out of town that weekend). I'd certainly be up for it.
I'm in the south central area of the state, Chambersburg right down the road from Carlisle. I made a post looking for GRMers in the area when I was moving to the area and quite a few came out of the woodwork. I'm game to travel a bit too.
I'm in Quakertown, and would be up for meeting up to go karting or something.

Lower Bucks here. The indoor karting track in Horsham might be a relatively central meet-up spot and easy to get to (right off the PATP), although meeting up at RobMopar's shop is still something I'd like to do some day.
'Nother vote for the Horsham kart track. It is right off the turnpike, and 20 minutes from me.

I've spent a few nights at the Willow Grove Courtyard and never knew there was a kart track nearby. I don't think I have driven one since I was 12. Do they have bigger motors for the fat guys
If we plan something for a weeknight, I can make sure I am working in Philadelphia instead of Vermont.
I'm in lower Monroe along the Northampton border. I could be convinced to do something.
In reply to logdog :
The ones in Horsham are electric with a decent amount of torque, so they'll get you up to speed regardless of size- the penalty will come when you try to turn the thing
I'm also very in favor of a weeknight, but I'm biased since I work about 5 mins from the Horsham track.

Where in Lower Bucks are you? I live in Atlanta now, but I'm a Yardley native.
I'm in Carlisle. I'd be game for karting or whatever, but weeknights would be tough.

I'm in Waynesboro, pretty close to Chambersburg and would be game for a meet.

A Lehigh Valley hot dog place with this sketchy motherberkeleyer for a mascot:
I do not particularly recommend it.
In reply to ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ :
Yea, something about weiners and "secret sauce" is a bit off-putting, to say the least . I'm not really much of a hot dog guy anyways.

Croydon. A part of NJ that floated across the river and landed between Bristol and Bensalem.

I don't know if I'd consider Yocco's all that sketchy... but of course, I got dragged to Toby's Cup in Phillipsburg by my ex- more times than I can remember:
Man if you guys are in the Lehigh Valley and not eating at Diner 248 you're not doing it right.
I also do not understand Yaccos.
Horsham Kart track an hour or so down 611 from work or the turnpike from home. Weeknight would work but I'd have to leave early (not that I'm opposed to it) to get there at a decent time
In reply to Ian F :
The restaurant itself isn't but King Hotdog sure looks like he's up to no good.

Whenever I am in Emmaus, the guys I work with always talk about how awesome Yoccos is and one of them always wants to go there for lunch.
So it sounds like we cant get everybody but we could put together a small group at the Horsham track on a week night.
How about we steal the date of the Michigan guys and meet on Wednesday March 7? Im already scheduled to be in the area so I can make it happen.

That date looks doable for me as well.
York co. here I may be able to make it
I'd buy it, if it weren't soo far away.
Wait, huh?

One of the things I miss about living in Michigan are the awesome GRMers I met like our valued Champcar pit guy BlueInGreen44.
One of the things I don't miss about living in Michigan is the Newman to my Jerry, DrBoost. May your cars be ridden with intermittent CAN communication faults!
