I don't know, but in MI you'd get a ticket. Red and Blue lights are illegal of visible from outside the car, except for rear brake lights. Purple is close enough to both that you will get pulled over as well. If they're not DOT approved, you'll get beaten with a night stick.
purple may look cool.. but is amazingly annoying to oncoming drivers and you can't see the road with it. Stick to white or close to it for best visibility
and
ouch, well I just went on a test run with them... The picture shows those ^^ but the light was not even as bright as stock headlights nor was there even a single tint of purple to be found... I contacted the seller... Hopefully its just the bulbs they sent were just a faulty pair and not him being false advertising..
Yep... I saw them was like oh dang, tried doing research couldnt really find anything about them, so i ordered installed them within a hour of being home, had to wait till it was dark and when it was drove for a bit with hardly any lighting and 0 purple. when they are suppose to be HID look alikes

Why not just install HIDs? You can get kits for under $50 http://www.ddmtuning.com/Product-Categories/HID-Kits-and-Components
Purple generally isn't very good for driving in rain or fog. The sky appears blue because blue light scatters in air and water more than other colors - meaning a light that's in the blue/purple range doesn't cut through bad weather very well at all. You'll get more glare and less visible light.
Plus, it appear they achieved this with a color absorbing coating - meaning that filter is sucking up more of the light you could be using to see with. If it has the same current draw as a normal headlight, but a filter that takes some of your light away - they're lying if the say it's brighter than stock. It's dimmer.
Looks like typical ebay type crap to me. Try to get your money back not another set of bulbs. Because I would not expect another set to perform any better.
If you want a set of bulbs that is legitimately brighter look at Silverstars or PIAA bulbs, just to name a few...
Don't take this as a personal attack, but there are few things that I hate more than blue/ purple headlights shining in my face at night. Please don't use them.
Its a well known fact that for long distance vision white light is best, and in low visibility yellow or amber is best.
And pink tinted headlights are just silly.

I'll take silly colored halogen bulbs over HIDs in halogen housings.

^this! Stop putting "HID" bulbs into the stock housings, I don't care if it is "legal" it is irritating as all hell.
Also, please, please, please! Aim your damned headlights properly! It isn't hard to do, just takes a bit of time.
I will tell you the truth here.. everytime I see somebody with blue, purple, or even red (yes, I have seen this) I wish I had gone into law enforcement.. I would be pulling everyone one of those people over and either hitting them with a fix it ticket or impersonation
