I know we have our airplane geeks here. I've watched this video over the last two days. Cool discussion of the F22.

I saw 3 of them flying in formation over Keesler this spring. They sound like no other jet I've ever heard.
I got to watch them taking off out of Holloman a couple months later, and even without using any thrust-vectoring, their flight characteristics reminded me more of starships from Battlestar Galactica, Star Wars, etc. than aircraft.
I started watching but don't have the time to finish tonight. I will watch the rest tomorrow. The F22 is a beast. Those F119 engines are just awesome. I have been lucky to have a tiny little piece of making that plane fly for the last decade, first making PTO shafts and then the engines. The science and precision that goes into these things is hard to grasp.
I remember F22's when I was stationed at Langley AFB. They did some crazy moves but boy they were annoyingly loud.
But the sound of an A10 still gives me a sense of security. They were everything to us in Afghanistan.

Worked on building the engines you say? We may be coworkers.
The F22 demonstration at Barnes and the Cape Cod airshows a several years ago was just incredible. So cool to be a part of it, even in a small way.

I work for P&W. My tiny piece of the puzzle is Nickel super alloys, extrusions and forgings. It's not the prettiest portion of the show but it's a piece of it.
