As far as Facebook goes, after giving up on it twice, I came back, created a new profile, and friended exactly NOBODY. The secret I learned is, if you don't have any friends, then nobody can send you a friend request. I joined the groups that I wanted to join, and started my own group for a very close knit group of people, all of whom I know in real life. I locked down my profile hard. I post nothing to my own timeline; only to groups. The result of this is I see only stuff I want to see, I can still browse, message, and use Marketplace, and my social media stress level went to 0. I do use Instagram to post funny pictures of cars, too, but I'm on that maybe once a week.
