These are more of boots, but I swear, there's the Miata of footwear.
Go hiking, street hockey, through snow, clean the meat department (personal fav),-check. Does it all. The only downside is they might get a little hot on the summer.
I've beat the hell out of them for years. They last about three years and the best part is HiTech doesn't change the look of them, so if you like the looks, hey, next years model won't disappoint. Behold:
HiTech Boots
I tried them all and for my flintstone feet and walking on concrete 90% of my life - NewBalance.. though i replace them about every 3-4 monthes.
In reply to Appleseed:
I would also vouch for HiTecs quality. That was my aforementioned pair of hiking boots that lasted me 10 years of off and on use. I still have them and use them for yard work now.
Didn't know HiTecs were still around - I had a pair in the 90's - they were awsome.. i may need to look them up.
Bass Pro stocks them (at least around Chicago they do.)

Go to a running store and get fitted. You might pay a little bit more, but it's worth it. You wouldn't buy E36 M3ty tires for your car, would you?
