It's that time of year again--time for some awesome holiday movies.
I think we'll be watching 1941 (again) in the very near future.

I'm not sure how it gets roped in with the Christmas movies, but I always end up watching Harry Potter.

Haven't seen Long Kiss Goodnight but, yeah, those two others are staples.
The Ref. We watch this every Christmas Eve while finishing up wrapping and stuff.
Call me old-school, but I enjoy me some A Christmas Story and National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. And Die Hard. Yeah.
I also like to watch anything Star Wars, since there's usually a marathon of those on TV, and lately, there have been new Star Wars movies in theaters around that time.
Any holiday love for Gremlins? I admit that it's not my favorite. Mrs. Editor likes it. I saw it in the theater when it was new. Didn't fall in love then, either.

Dang, yeah, a favorite. We might have to add that to the queue.

yes, yes, oh god yes.
plus The Hebrew Hammer.
Muppets Christmas Carol
Christmas with the Cranks still makes me laugh
Nightmare Before Christmas (Because Tim Burton)
The Nativity Story (2006) is a really brilliant telling of the Western version of the Christmas story (the one we all know). Does an especially good job of making Joseph real (Which is cool).
I make the distinction, because I think the actual story was quite different than the way we know it. I wrote about it recently on my blog (if you are interested):
The Manger and the Inn- a Middle Eastern View
But The Nativity Story is always worth watching.
It's not Christmas until Hans Gruber falls from Nakatomi Tower.
I forgot about 1941 (as a "Christmas" movie).
Arthur Christmas is really good. Wife loves the Lethal Weapon series so I wind up watching either the first or second ones almost year round. Scrooged and the original Christmas Carol are my sentimental favorites. Arguing about whether or not Die Hard is a Christmas movie is always good fun over celebratory sprits.. And who can forget Friday After Next
I have a genuine leg lamp from the Christmas Story house in Cleveland and a Daisy Red Rider bb gun from 1977.
