I have been waiting for.. Working in the lab at a nearby rather large level 2 trauma center. I will be assisting in processing and analyzing patient specimens.. Blood, Urine and other specimens as needed.. I worked at a Long term care facility.. aka nursing home, would like to say it was a learning experience in a good way. But alas i am not much of a liar. I would never wish anyone to ever being a resident in a place like that.. but onward and most definatley upward.

I do a fair amount of work at nursing home. They can definitely be depressing places to work.

Good for you! Congrats.

I used to help my dad measure for fire protection sprinklers in some of the worst nursing homes in the late 1970's all over the city of Chicago.

Lots of sick folks - kinda crazy.

Much congrats on the new job BARNCA

The staff at nursing homes are angels in disguise for what they have to deal with, may God bless 'em

My mom worked for years in a Long Term Care facility as Director of Activities... she loved the job as it allowed her to work with people and make them feel better... but hated losing people in the end

Congrats on the job!!!!

As others mentioned, the LTC-deal requires a mind-set that most people just don't have.

Best of luck with the new position!!!

Years ago I was installing a camera system in a fairly nice one in North Miami. Little old man always sat outside his room. I said "Hi" and he beamed. Turned out his mind was sharp as a tack, but his body was shot. He was from Ireland with a strong brogue, and was just desperate for somebody to talk to. That job took way to long to finish.
