The cx500 isn't really modern, it's a late 70s design, but it is a correctly oriented v-twin with shaft drive. They claimed @50hp new but testing says more like 35. Still, in a 500# cycle car it's going to be better than an old acvw, right?

Adding a 4th wheel, as several had mentioned, would make it a car where it would need all of the nannies a present day car has to have.
