9 lb pork butt smoked about 14 hrs this weekend.
Not really food, but I've been wire brushing the grill for decades! I received a Grill Guard as a birthday gift. DIS is da BOMB!! Works way better than elbow grease. I kiss it afterward with a paper towel slathered with olive oil, it's an ice rink. =~ )
pork belly and bacon lollipops and a turkey that woud up getting fried after it came out of the smoker.
I've been informed I'm making the lollipops again for Xmas dinner
After 50 years my local butcher decided to fold up his tent. Because my brother is a meat cutter I asked the butcher for the cut called a "Rockefeller Roast". "Sure, buy my shop and it's yours". This year our daughter in law decided she'd like to have Christmas at home, GREAT! So we went down last weekend, exchanged gifts etc., but I brought a Roast.
My God you can cut it with a fork.
In the summer, we make a pie that's just a can of Cherry Pie Filling, 1 pint of Blueberries and a pint of clean, sliced Strawberries. Mix it in a bowl and pour into a pie crust. (no cooking).
Done.
Mrs. 914 was going to the store, "Need anything?" Yep, strawberries. I've been looking at the half a can of pie filling left from the Xmas Cheesecake, gonna make something.
"OOoo, I haven't made an Angel Food Cake in a long time!"
Done!
A few ignorant comments from some northerners in the rant thread a while back have left me craving biscuits and Gravy. So I got up early this morning to get the brisket on the smoker then made myself some
bonus: making them with the heart shaped cutter won my some points with the wife
probably the moistest and flakiest biscuits I've ever had, why can't Popeyes make them like this instead of the dry and dense ones they have that suffocate you
I would like to introduce y'all to Excess. Excess is a nutter butter tiramisu. Nutter butter base, peanut butter Chantilly cream, a dark chocolate blood orange olive oil sponge cake soaked with screwball peanut butter whiskey, c and a dark chocolate ganache. Richer than Warren Buffet.
Probably shouldn't be friends with me if you're trying to lose weight.
Pizza place by my work has a supreme (sausage, onion, mushroom and green pepper). Tasty cheap lunch.
It's always a good time using a torch in the kitchen. Leveled up French onion soup.
also, my $40 induction burner from Amazon is my favorite cooking tool in at least a decade. Highly recommend!
Chic-Fil-A recipe. Sounds weird, but it's tasty. I cut the marinate and coating in half, it was enough for 6 boneless thighs.
