This morning I am moved to credit all the forum members and show my appreciation for all you do--the wisdom you impart and the laughter and reflection that you provoke. This in spite of your glaring intellectual handicap, your propensity toward obesity and slovenliness, and your Communist political leanings. I hold each and every one of you dear. Thank you!
My wife coined a new verb yesterday. She had some question about knitting needles, so she posted the queston on a forum full of knowledgeable knitters. She said "I GRM'ed it." I'm always talking about seeking advice from you people, so I guess it's caught on.
GRM: (jee ar em) verb 1. to find information by posting a question on an internet forum populated by users knowledgeable in the subject at hand
Being on here is the best thing that ever happened to me when it comes to car & racing knowledge.
I came for the knowledge, I stay for the people.

It's a remarkable crowd... Sometimes I go other places on the Internet, and it often serves to remind me how good it is here.

EX: I had a question, so I GRMed it on a local forum.
2. To complete a task in a non-standard way by utilizing low cost or innovative methods
EX: I GRMed that bolt by welding a socket right to it

All that has been said is very true!
This place is fantastic for both the content and the truly great people. When compared to most other forums this just feels like a totally different world...in a good way!

My wife hangs at ravelry.com which is a big knitting forum.
I was a hero a couple of years back where I created an account to ask for Christmas gift ideas.
I think I got the idea from a wife who had come into GRM to ask similar questions.
This a very timely topic given that just this morning I read Tim's article about the forum in the mag.
A good article the just touches the surface or how good this community is.
For me, my current work and current business is directly and exclusively related to this board.

LOL. I almost added a similar "2" on the original definition but was running short of time. That's perfect.

I'll add my two cents: You guys have been really helpful to me both on the forum and via PM/email. I started out with zero car knowledge, and nobody laughed at me for asking n00b questions. If you hadn't been so supportive, I would have given up on my build a long time ago.

Can somebody remind me how to view the digital version? I already re-gifted mine to one of the kids at school, and hadn't read the column.

Primarily in confusing the masses.
I wouldn't have this job, or be in this career without the help and encouragement of several members.
I would have more money, but be much poorer without you guys.

Tis' indeed a strange and special corner of the interwebz. Whenever I go back to one of the other marque-specific forums I used to frequent I'm reminded just how different this one is. I've certainly made more real friends amongst this community than any other.
sniff, I lerve you guys
Yes, thanks, everyone, for being part of our community. It's a nice place to hang out.
Cheers for the forum.
I actually found the forum before the magazine. Now I'm in the midst of the ten year subscription.
Yes, the best people ever in the world are here.
