Has the idea of a forum subcategory for events and get to togethers ever been tossed around. It'd provide the potential for more of us to get out and know others of us would be attending a non competitive motorsports related event (such as a cars and coffee, etc). The idea came to me as I'm considering organizing a very GRMy transportation show at a local maker space.

Sounds like a great idea, I'll run it up the chain of command! If a subforum isn't doable then I am happy to make a get-together thread a sticky for a while to give it some extra visibility, just shoot me a PM.
There was one, within the last 4 years. It withered on the vine. I think it’s a good idea, though.
I like it. Unfortunately as its own subforum it just didn't drive enough traffic to justify its existence. BUT We just edited the Trips & Adventures forum to include event planning. It's now the Trips, Adventures and Get-Togethers forum.
