I'd like to think an AI made that mistake but it was probably human error...but part of the problem is that most journalists today are being overworked to within an inch of their lives to beat other outlets to a story even by a matter of seconds. I'm not sure which readers would notice that but the media companies seem to think it matters a lot. Maybe it has something to do with algorithmic news delivery?

Nope, Russia also says that the Andromeda Galaxy used to be part of them and therefore they're taking that back too. /s

Those Russian weapons must be from another dimension, another dimension, another dimension, another dimension.

Fear sells, and the general public is getting dumber by the day.

How many decades has it been since journalism was any more than thinly veiled propaganda anyway? At least the 4 I've been a part of. Made considerably worse with the 24/7 ad sales since the birth of CNN and the 24 hour news network.

In case you are wondering what the real story is (JUST mentioned in the Ukraine War thread).  And yes, there is fear mongering involved, but most of it is coming from Pulter, as he has done MANY times in the past (mostly with nukes).  So, any enhancing of that is essentially helping Pulter in his process to intimidate.

Is Russia developing space-based nuclear weapon? What we know of US claim

MOSCOW/WASHINGTON, Feb 15 (Reuters) - What is the space-based nuclear weapon that the United States has warned Congress and allies in Europe that Russia could use against the West's satellites?

The exact nature of the weapon - and whether it actually exists - is unclear. But threatening satellites could cause all sorts of mischief - undermining communications, surveillance, intelligence and command and control around the world, including in the nuclear sphere.

It is unclear why Russia would need to use nuclear weapons to destroy a satellite. The New York Times said the United States does not have the ability to counter such a weapon.

Any yes, there is already a treaty against putting weapons in space.

Just the same old propaganda rehashed.

I just haven't figured out why you want to destroy "everything", just to say "I won."

Doesn't matter.  A human editor should be approving everything published.

Yet another reason I never ever watch the news.

Probably a majority of the 'readers' are AI bots, so does it matter if a human edits it?

"I like my sugar with coffee and cream" is currently ringing in my head.

On a more serious note, the news is always going to be the news. Take it with a grain of salt, and don't be afraid to do your own fact-checking.

In reply to GameboyRMH :

It has everything to do with algorithmic news delivery. That's been the way of the world for 20 years? "It's bad on purpose, to make you click".

People seem pretty eager to get a slower, more thoughtful discussion of the news. There's 100 podcasts or YT channels that illustrate this quite well. They're mostly remarkably successful.

Those journalists sold their souls (and integrity) and are in no way victims.
