dice game, Farkle. Is easy enough for our 7 year old to be able to play and enjoy it. Fun enough to keep adults interested. It's our 'go to' game right now.
oh man! We had some friends over and turned Farkle into a drinking game. (every time you "farkled" you had to take a shot)
Long story short, I got completely tanked and my wife (who is a "one and done"-er) downed about seven shots and walked away like it was nothing

You will quickly figure out that there are very few people who "get it." But when you get two or three other people who do, it's pretty rad. Leave the board out and try to decipher the words sober the next morning.
Balderscrabble is a lot like that. It takes people with a love of words and a solid helping of bullE36 M3ting ability. Works well in Canada where there are no Ebonics, but we do have French Canadians which is almost as good.
Word on the Street works pretty well for 2 players.

That's how I play normal scrabble. If I can't bamboozle at least a couple really dodgy/nonexistent words into a game, I'm having an off day.
You want to challenge me? If I'm not lying, you lose your turn. Go ahead, make my day.
I challenge Jay!
If the weather is nice, you can always go look at the stars, too. I didn't care for Astronomy until I bought my wife (then girlfriend) a pretty good telescope for Christmas one year. Having a nice telescope makes a big difference.
