Slightly tongue in cheek, but I really do hate it when we roll out a new version of Office.

So far the HP scanner doesn't work no matter which work-around I try. The P Touch label maker works with the newer version of editor and a Vista-compatible work-around. Laser printer is next but shouldn't be a big deal.

But the Access problem is a deal breaker so far. According to MS I have to open the 97 database in another version of Access (2003, 2007, 2010), save as a special format, then reopen in 2013 and save. Anyone have those versions laying around I could use for 60 seconds??

Yep, they keep dicking with Access compatibility causing issues for end users and support people who have to figure out how to properly install the various versions of Office and Access to get it all to work correctly.

The few companies I've worked for that have tried to nip this in the bud have done so by killing any and all silo-ed Access Database solutions, converting them to a SQL Database with better control and support and then restricting who can have Access installed on their systems. This way Access becomes a less of an issue.

HAHAHahahahahhaa famous last words. No new driver on HP's site, they say go to Windows Update catalog. I tried downloading CAB files and going to a command prompt in berkeleying DOS to try to expand the CAB files, partying like it's 1993... Ended up borrowing a wireless adapter and going thru the same thing online.

Still trying to convert my old Access databases, two different people offered to help and two people have bailed on me so far. Using Excel and Word on the new computer now, are you E36 M3ting me that you can't just close an Excel file without closing Excel?
