"Murder hornets" eradicated in the U.S., agriculture officials say
I guess we can strike that off the list of invasive species wreaking havoc. Still got monkeys running amok in the South and hammerhead worms, but hey, take your victories when you can.
Murder hornets eradicated? I don't believe it for a second. It's just a cover story. What they've really done is breed them very much larger, and released swarms of them over New Jersey.

Sounds exactly like something a murder hornet would say...

Does that not make them an "endangered species". Good $$$ in the "endangered species" game.
Now , work on the kudzu....
Weren't Murder Hornets keeping the population of these down?
This thread went in a direction I wasn't expecting - but I'm still enjoying it .
Wait, Charlotte doesn't have a basketball team any more?

I feel like this applies to most threads on this forum.
I refuse to believe that they were able to find every single murder hornet and nest in the States. Like, that sounds absurd.

The NBA has decreed that all teams are named "The Pelicans" now. Except the Utah Jazz, to pay proper respects to the deep Jazz roots of Salt Lake City and Ogden.

It certainly sounds like asking for a jinx.

Don't worry, the media will find something else to scare people with.
Maybe underwear tarantulas.

In all fairness, they've only ever been found in one small geographic area on either side of the border between Northwest Washington and Southwest British Columbia in 2019-2021. They are declaring this because there have been zero confirmed sightings in 2022, 2023, and now 2024.

What's the over/under for the headline of "Murder hornets thought to have been erradicated in the US have been found in xxxx" in a few years?

It's just silly to use this as the basis for the statement that they've been eradicated. A more likely explanation is that they've successfully developed stealth technology.

How do we know that they're not just passing themselves off as Manslaughter Hornets?

Not to be confused with Gross Negligence Bees.

Not even murder hornets can stand the area.
"Deep Jazz Roots Of Odgen" is the name of my yet to be formed death metal band. Dibs. I called it.
