Congrats man!!! Now PM me all the contact information for that Dempsey Racing spot!
I tell ya what boy, I tell ya whut.
A family friend just emailed the owner (they are both friends ) and just put the good word in. Anxiously waiting by the phone to hear any news
Lucky guy. I have had a few interviews but no luck for the last year and few months of being unemployed. Waiting to hear back from a job in Greenville, AL, about 4 hours from where I live. Yes, its that bad that I am applying for jobs all over the state of Alabama, lol.
Anyway, good luck and it sounds like you have the job sewn up.
A company you want a job with asks for references and you don't think to ask your most recent boss? Frankly, I'm hurt, bro.
Did something happen at your old job or are you just looking for a change? IIRC you started that one not too long ago.

No, you remember correctly. Paul worked for me for about 5 months. Unfortunately, family issues forced his return to Georgia. I'll let him tell the rest if he is so inclined.
It was just family issues. Brad is an awesome boss to work for and wished I could continue to work with. He has taken a new portion of a company and has turned it into one of the biggest emerging Porsche parts distributors in the world! I can only wish for continued success.
So Duke, what will you be doing exactly and will it pay the bills?
I wouldn't mind working for a part distributor so long as it had decent pay...
In reply to PHeller:
I would be a "Ferrari Parts Specialist", just a glorified term for parts sales and inventory guy. I would answer calls and emails concerning parts sales and tracking inventory. There are two locations, one in Monterey CA, and the facility in Tucker GA. I would be traveling to that location as well as different classic car shows and historic races as a representative of the company

That'd be like being a lingerie specialist and having all the women assume your gay.

Little bit. Mostly thru my dad. He was the Team Manager for the Ferrari Challenge team when the series first started, won the championship the first year out with Cort Wagner driving, also ran Derek Hill, Phil Hill's son. I have worked on the only Ferrari 355 Challenge car equipped with a F1 trans. Also worked on a Ferrari 512F (Filipinetti), chassis 1048. The only Ferrari 512 with a Porsche 917 windscreen to improve its aero. Done some Ferrari Challenge stuff with Ferrari of Atlanta as contract work (couldn't officially work for them as my dad was a manager there and they considered it a "Conflict of Interest" if I worked there). I have experience at Lamborghini with Parts and dealt with Ferrari while I was there

Like I said, one hell of a resume.
Latest Update:
Got a call back, says he is going on a personal vacation next week. He says to look for a call a week from this Tuesday when he gets back in the office. He says he has narrowed the field to me and another candidate. This suspense is killing me!!!
Oh man...
And my (pathetic) brain goes into overdrive. Head honch of a Ferrari dealership is probably a skilled negotiator. Is he really pondering which of two applicants to go for during his vacation, or is it down to just you and he wants you really appreciative of getting the nod while terms are ironed out?
In any case, as long as there's still any slice of uncertainty, my fingers are crossed for you. Also, I'm with fasted58; it's Friday on top of it all, and with any luck that'll mean something again to you shortly.
