Last day is May 17th. I'm sweating. I have a decent resume but don't want to move away from Greenville, SC. Know someone? E-mail me or LinkedIn me.

Just sent you a LinkedIn invite. Happy to help any way I can. I know how much you've put yourself out there to help others (remember the XJ?), so I'd love the opportunity to help out.

Been where you are, twice. First time was with no warning after 16 years with the company, they slid my severance checks across the table and said "Good Luck". It was devastating. Happened again 3 years later, but no severance. That was 20 years ago in Greenville with a much smaller economy, fewer options for a guy with an Assocate Degree like myself.
You're making a good 1st step, let people know, network, and go ahead and contact employment agencies. I'm in the Greenville area as well, and it is a strong employment area with lots lots of opportunity. Don't sell yourself short and don't disqualify yourself from anything, make them say "No".
Check with Michelin, Lockheed, and BMW come to mind immediately. Don't rule out local, state, or federal jobs in the area.
Good luck and don't get discouraged. Don't underestimate the potential emotional impact. Don't let the uncertainty of the future rob you of your todays.
You're going to survive this and you'll be stronger for it.
Dude, that’s Really rough.
I don’t have anything particularly useful but since I’m a fed, I always recommend people take a look at our job website.

I'm an electrical engineer at a consulting firm and could probably come up with some contacts in the power industry, but you're probably not interested in moving to Minnesota. Good luck! As mentioned, networking is the way to go - keep at it, and eventually someone you know will know someone who will know someone who'll be able to hook you up. I went through the same process to find my job, and I'm celebrating 25 years there this month.

Crap. That sucks- I’m sorry you are going through this.
My suggestions and opportunities would probably put you on the road, so I won’t go there for now, but don’t hesitate to ask.
Greenville is strong. You should be ok. Godspeed!
I hate to hear that Tuna.
Unfortunately, all my connections are in central IL.
I'd almost prefer to be unemployed in SC than be the king of Illinois.
Good luck to you!
That sucks man! I can't think of anyone I know off the top of my head, but I'll keep thinking!
Did you have any warning this was coming?
Hey Tuna,
Take a look at Proterra. There are a couple of ex WAB folks there. Also, I will send you a text offline.
