1972 Ford Gran Torino - Bought New.
M-1 Rifle brought back from the Korean War.
50 year Ford Employee.
Clint Eastwood looking angry.
Sounds like a great movie? (The Chicago Tribune says no and gave it 2 stars)
Let me know who sees it........I might wait for Paul Blart, Mall Cop instead.
I have hopes for it but I'll wait until more reviews come out. The problem is that there are already plenty of really great Eastwood movies that I'm afraid this one would be a let down.
I have just scored one....72 Torino that is

I saw it a few days ago... It was awesome... Definitely recommend it. I watched some leaked advanced copy online but I'm probably going to go see it again when its in theaters.
Looks pretty good, I'll see it when comes out.
Any of you folks ever see Vanishing Point, now that is a cool car movie. Any movie with a car as best supporting actor gets my vote.

Oh no, let's not go down the 'best car movie' path again. VP is not a good movie. It's a bad movie with a few good car scenes in it. Watch the car stuff on YouTube and save yourself another hour of confusing hippie worship.
Clint Eastwood takes up the slack when Chuck Norris is on vacation.

Much of Gran Torino was filmed in Detroit (Gov Jenny gave filmmakers a tax break). I may watch it just because Clint makes some decent movies.
The Freep (Detroit Free Press) reviewed it and said Clint doesn't do many takes, or nitpick the actors, like other directors. They claimed his movies suffered because of this.

Right, which is why virtually every actor associated with Unforgiven and Million Dollar Baby got an Oscar...
Clint is still the man.
I'm gonna see it xmas day

I saw the preview. Clint Eastwood looking very grumpy and saying "get off my lawn!" is perfect. The rest of the movie could only be a disappointment.

"Do you feel lucky, punk?"
"Go ahead. Make my day."
"Get off my lawn."
Yes, it will be the catch phrase of the millenium.

Chuck Norris kicks his own ass because he can't be Clint Eastwood.
When Clint Eastwood was Mayor of Carmel, California he used to drive an old school Mini.
Walterj,
That's funny. Hope it makes the mag.
I'll go see it. I like the fact that in the previews he just points his hands and shoots at the punks in the Honda. I'm going to take a wild guess and say that most of the southside of central Florida will not go see this movie just because of that part of the preview....and that's where an abundance of Honda thefts take place as well....

There's a movie featuring an M1? That's 5 stars right there.
Fixed that for you.
I've "tuned up" more successful M-1's than Torinos.
My favorite service rifle!
I had my personal rifle weighed up over 14 lbs!
It held so close . even offhand.
The action freed up to cycle at a 15 degree tilt!
The inspectors at Camp Perry often tried to disqualify it for light trigger pull because of the weight.
They would jerk the rifle against the hung pull wieghts and get a pre-mature discharge click.
If lifted carefully it "broke " just right!
Love X ringing it at 600 yards!

I want to see it. The snippets in the commercial sure do make it look awesome.

Well, I'm a lot more likely to yell "yet those damn kids off my lawn" than the other two. Have been for years
The first two, you're pretending to be a fictional badass. The third is funny no matter who you are, and especially if you'd had a career playing fictional badasses.
