I did not provide a credit card when I signed up for PSN and do not plan to in the future. I think they have my name, birthdate, and address just like all sorts of other people on the planet. I have no idea what my PSN pasword even is. I typed it in once and told my PS3 to remember it.
Yeah, you wouldn't provide a credit card unless you're paying for DLC.
This is a far smaller issue than the episilon breach from a few weeks back. I am not too worried about this, I have fraud protection on my CC and credit alerts setup on all 3 bureaus.
I would recommend using paypal for online purchases. You only have to add the exact amount to cover the expected charge.
Yeah, I have my card info in for DLC but I forget my password also haha I put it in once and saved it. You can't change your password with PSN down. So far nothing unordinary is happening with my money. Can you do PayPal with PSN?
haha Chimp, yeah miss racing you too! COME BACK!!
hahahahaha
I LOL'd.....so perfect and 100% true
I did use my credit card for DLC. From this point on, I will buy the PSN card from GameStop and eat the fee if I want DLC.
Here is what I did today...
Business trip canceled just before I had to go to the airport... this went right through the airport at the departure time for my flight...

Glad to hear you missed out on that Brad.

I'd like to get in on this, whenever Sony gets E36 M3 fixed.
Not entirely sure how often I'd be able to run the actual races, given that I don't have the internet at one of the places I'm stuck staying at.
Random related question: Would the Sambabus have qualified for the SBC?
I don't know if the bus was on the list, I am pretty sure the Karmann Ghia was though. Either way, they would be very underpowered for SBC. The HP max is 207 and I don't think you can get those engines very close to that (I think they max out a bit over 100).
If they were competitive I would have likely chosen a Ghia.

Sambabus is a diesel I think, mine sits at 196 hp and 303 ftlbs. 900 some odd kg and it moves pretty quick.

Meh.... d@mn you PSN....
I guess since we can't race, I'll go work on Series 3...
Hot Hatches and Spec M3s work for everyone?
What is everyone's opinion of what constitutes a "Hot Hatch"?
Also, I think I'll allow a variety of tires on the M3s, just to add a bit to the tuning and race strategy. So, you'll be able to run H/M/S as you like... I just need to test that the softs will wear off fast enough to make it relevant, otherwise everyone will just run the soft tires and not worry about the others.

Hot Hatch: Highly modified no holds barred FWD hatchbacks. No restrictions. (Maybe a weight penalty for forced induction?)
hot hatch: no aero, fwd
Purest form of a hatch, too: 3-door bodies only
M3: no mo pimpin' - earth tones only

I resent that... I wasn't pimpin' in MX5, mine is a Gulf Oil tribute. It would have been better if there was a true livery editor.
I kinda want ALL aero. ALL mods.
The SBC/MX5 races were too... similar in terms of outright speed. I want to see something a bit closer to the insane-o realm.

The biggest issue with aero is that not all the cars have the same options / opportunity to use aero components. That's why it is allowed on the spec cars, but not on the open series.

The boy racer in me says "Then you picked the wrong car."
MOST of these cars would only be able to use a rear wing in the game anyways. I don't think there are many hot hatches that are truly "hot" that have no aero options in the game.
But really, if we're allowed race tires or something, Aero probably won't matter that much. I just want to race a full-banzai Mitsu Cyborg.
The two classes sound fine to me. To me a hot hatch is fwd with a rear hatch instead of a trunk, like a Honda Civic Type R, Mitsu. Cyborg, & Mini Cooper S. I don't care if it's 3 or 5 doors though. I saw a youtube vid. of a guy who ran a Countach as a European Hot Hatch. That we don't need. If we limit it to 3 doors we might be eliminating a couple of interesting competitive cars. I'd rather see an upper hp limit set to keep someone who has played the game longer from unlocking an obscure, nearly impossible to get car that will blow everyone else into the weeds. I may never be able to run up front but I'd like to feel like I've got a shot at it. Allow the hp limiter to be used in case someone has a car they want to run that's already modified past the limit to lower it to the max. allowed. Not sure what the number would be but prob. in the 300hp neighborhood. Re. aero, how much difference does it really make on a fwd car? I've run them in GT3 and usually backed them all the way off because the car understeered anyway. I don't recall a hot hatch contender that was helped by a rear wing. However, front aero should help. I doubt a lower weight limit would be necessary. I looked to see if a 'giant killer' might be available but I don't think so. I'm not sure, but I don't think the p/w ratio would be equal to the obvious choices. No full race mods.
M3 will be spec. so I'll take white again.
The only other thing I'll mention is that I hope decent tires will be specified for both classes. SBC is not really enjoyable to me. Has anyone quit competing on SBC but not MX5? I thought about it but decided to give it my best shot hopeing if nothing else I might learn something. I have, CS tires SUCK!!!!
The thing with FWD is that they don't necessarily get faster as you add more power. I think if someone wants to try to run a 450hp FWD car, go for it. I sure as hell wouldn't want to.
Agreed on the tires, though. Spec M3 Sport Soft? Hot Hatch unlimited?
I'll take 450hp in mine. I might limit it or gear it weird on a tight track but if we go back to Monza, balls out, lol.
ummm yeah.....I can't wait lol I gots plenty of nice hatchees and some jdmdrift colors to go with them, yeah, I ain't going normal!!
Get ready for torques steer, understeer, and no traction until 4th gear.
Can I use my Tofu car? hope you can see through smoke
