Damn, at this rate, I may as well start playing World of Warcrack again.
Some progress:
PSN has begun to come back online, but access to it is currently restricted to developers, and it’s sporadic at best.
The news comes by way of NeoGAF with user Kagari who heard from a quality assurance tester at a game developer that access was being granted again. On its own that would be speculative confirmation that Sony is turning things back on, but Kagari has also confirmed with several other developers that access is now available, but it wouldn’t be what you call reliable.
If you’ve ever suffered a major outage at a website or company network, you know that when it first starts working again access is less than perfect. However, within a few hours or over the course of a day things get back to normal.
Can we expect the same for PSN? We’d like to think so and within a few days developers should be enjoying full access. That also bodes well for the user-facing side to start coming back online hopefully early next week.
The only date we have to work on is the end of this month when Sony’s Kaz Hirai stated things should be working again. But we also know that sections of the network are meant to be back online much sooner than that. Now it looks likely to be next week if this information coming from game developers is correct.

Did a few SBC laps at Deep Forest this morning. I've been driving the Volvo and the Vette lately. Had to get enough cash to buy the Volvo and mod it and buy a new Vette - mine had engine work done to make it not work for the series. SBC cars are slow but fun.
ID is Baelwerker, I figured there was no point in me telling everyone till it came back up, so hooray.
Add me if you please, I need to lose more races.
Didn't even notice until now, sweet, PSN's back up! Have to download the update first then change the password and buy the DLC for Shift 2 and take my card info of there
I did a few open lobby races Sunday morning then took a handful of my Bob's offline and to punish them for being gone for so long started three of them on the 24 hours of LeMans endurance race. Of course, in Gran Turismo fashion, I chose the X2010 for them so I didn't have to babysit them. This morning as I was leaving for work they were 100 laps ahead of the field with 4.5 hours to go. I think they have it under control.
Nice, got on and updated the system, updated PSN, went and changed my password, and checked billing info, SWEET! and didn't have to get a new card
Officially official... We will be resuming this week... Like as in tomorrow. Knock the dust off your SBC and MX5.
Haven't touched the MX5 since before Monza I think. Yikes. Drove the Marcos for a few laps last week. Even tried it out with sport softs as a comparison for hot hatch testing.
Sadly, I won't be able to rejoin you knuckleheads tomorrow night, for I will be on the road. Taking a motorcycle ride to the Smokies and Tail of the Dragon.
I'll be back next week.
OK, I will be ready. I guess I need to break out the Europa and the MX5 again. I don't think I have even tried the MX5 on tomorrows track yet.

Good! LOL!!!
I got online this afternoon and practiced for an hr.
It may not apply to any of you but I found that with my ethernet cord plugged directly into my PS that my laptop signal cuts in and out. I recall a couple of you were having problems staying on for the entire race. For a test, I left it plugged in and when I woke my laptop up it had no connection. I unplugged the PS and immediately got a connection on my laptop. I think I'll be sure to have my laptop asleep before starting the race tomorrow night. It doesen't seem to want to service both systems.
In reply to Graefin10:
