That's actually not a bad idea. All of us probably have several modified HHs now. We could use that idea in that series.
I just did 12 hrs. of prep. yesterday and a colonoscopy today and I don't think all my ram has woke up yet (no, not that, you know my r.a.m.) I know it sounds funny but I've felt like I'm operating in slow motion ever since I left the med. cntr. I'd like to do some races with you guys between series events but I'm just not up to it tonight. Since I knew I would be out of commision I had my "boys" run the 24 hrs. of Lemans finishing just before I got home this afternoon. I got the 99 Toyota GT one I think it's called. In GT2 it was THE car to have. It made me think of another possible series. It would be the old school Lemans cars: like the Toyota, BMW, McClaren, MB, and I think there are a few more. Hp limit them to equalize them on R/hard tires. It'll take a while for some of us to collect some of those cars but it could be fun. Oh, the two can am cars that I've seen on the game might be included too.
ac, if you were serious, I think modified Kei cars could be fun too. Each of us could design a specific track to run those on, you know, with no outrageous straights. I love to run them on RS tires on a tight track and try to not scrub off speed. It's really not that easy to be consistent with it. Well, to me anyway.
I haven't practiced much but still looking forward tomorrow night. We've been having a lot of storms lately and when the thunderstorms come I've noticed that my connection goes off and on. Hopefully they'll be cleared out by then.
I was also thinking of FR production cars, no limits of any kind, but no race mods.
Be an interesting balance between ridiculously powerful bruisers and the lighter handlers.

Sounds good, however, I just modified about 12 HH contenders. Can you imagine how many cars you'd have to try to find the one for you? Still it would be interesting.
Not that many.
I already know which two I would pick from, my 400hp, 800kg TVR V8S, and my 1023hp SL600.
Now if I could just get my PS3 to work properly.
I am thinking about GTs and Saloons for the next next series. Here is another thought, should we reduce the 5 race series? My only concern is that 5 races is a very short cycle to establish consistency of performance.
Anyway, I am coming in with zero practice and tuning. My biggest concern is not having time to tweak the transmission in MX5. There isn't much to do with the Mini, and I am guessing down force and suspension settings are close to last week.

I think i've done around 20 HHs, and i'm not done.
But that's part of the fun!
I've only modded 3 HH's. Ran out of money at that point, but I am happy with what I have.
For SBC I think I modded more like 7 or 8.
I agree, car selection is part of the fun. 5 races per series would be ok with me, but would make more work for Brad. Trying to develop a rules package and eligible car list takes some time and testing. I'm not really bored with either SBC or MX5 at this point, but the biggest drawback with both is that it is difficult to find anyone willing to race with online for practice races (more of a problem for SBC than Mx5). Turns out we are just about the only handful of people on the planet that want to race on comfort medium tires.

What's wrong with you PS3?
Last night I ran a Bspec 4hr. Nurb. race and didn't go check on it until about an hr. after it was finished. the PS was running and you could hear the sound but the screen was black. I hit every button on the controller, unplugged it, etc. I ended up having to restart the PS and then all was well????? This is about the 4th time I've had something odd happen to it. At least all were temporary . . . so far.
Question re. using steering wheel/pedals. Do the pedals of a good set have "feel" to it? i.e. a real brake pedal had a firm spot when the pressure is built up that you can use to modulate the brakes while slowing, do the game brakes work like that? Having that "feel" would make a world of difference.
I give up on this Mazda 110S. I don't even care where it finishes anymore. The stupid thing doesen't really respond enough when I change the settings to make much difference. After this is over I may put some decent tires on it and see how much difference that makes . . . or not!! I'll prob. race with you guys no matter what cars or what rules but, I know I've said it before, PLEASE, no more ridiculously bad tires. Personally, I've not learned one thing by racing this stupid car. I don't know how to set it up any better, I don't know how to race it any better, and the harder I try the worse I get. I know we all have different opinions about this but that's mine! Rant over.
The MX5s, I've learned a lot and have enjoyed it very much.

Connection problems. I struggled to stay connected most of yesterday. It only started working again after I unplugged the router and tried again.
Then I found out that a GT Formula car on comfort hards is only 6 seconds faster on Trial MT than TJs Marcos.

Hey, thanks but I'm OK. I had just come from spendin another 1.5hr.s adjusting the settings with no real gain and I was just more frustrated that usual.
Grizz, I can't believe you actually did that. That's hilarious. I also can't believe it actually got out of the pits. With me driving I'm sure it would just sit there and smoke.

Unfortunately, not really (at least in the cheaper one I have). I does have a springy feedback, but no "brake point". What you can do though, is set the brakes very week (most of my cars are set in the 1-3 range). This allows you to get a much wider range of brake as you push the pedal down. With the brakes set at full, hitting the pedal without ABS causes an immediate skid.
With a pedal, it is reasonably easy to modulate the brakes to avoid lockup. Push down until you start hearing the tires then back off.

Eh, i'll send it to you fully prepped anyways. I've got no use for it.
I'm with TJ haha I really don't care, i'll do whatever, but a series with light damage would be wonderful!!
wow I need to read this thread more often but hopefully i'll be able to make tonight's race this time, also.....if Dirt3 will let me
Well that sucked.
No practice + inverted start grid = me on pole for both races. Oddly my finishing position was similar, except I was last. Technically I DNF'd the MX5 race though.
An apology to everyone in the MX5 race. I was intending on pulling to the side and letting everyone pass at the start, but I seemed to get a good launch and had a gap, so I ran with it. After the first couple corners everyone was catching up. I was driving watching my mirrors and when the group got close, I tried to run offline and give a window for others to sneak through, I ran a bit too far offline (probably looking at the mirror not in front of me) and got my wheels off in the grass and spun out in front of everyone. I know I screwed up Ben's race, I hope I didn't do too much damage to the rest of you. I typed an apology, and was intending on finishing the race, but I hit O not X and exited. I thought PD had put a confirm screen in there, but it apparently only applies to A-Spec.
SBC was a typical race for me. Quick in the corners and brake zones, but slow everywhere else. I was fast enough to hold everyone up, but not fast enough to make a pass. I was running the Mini hard trying to keep up in the ranks when Ken Block... I mean Nick decided to drift head first into the tunnel. I was following TJ, who understeered into the back of Nick's car. That bounced them out into the line I was understeering on. So now we had collected 3 cars. Then bang, Apex comes running head on into the carnage making it a minimum of a 4 car pile up. Apex and I pitted immediately, TJ stayed out a lap. I could keep Apex insight, but wasn't making up any ground. TJ came out of the pits just behind me on the next lap. He was clearly faster, and I was holding him up and nearly wrecked him again, so I let him by going up the hill (not that I could have really prevented it, I just tried to make it easy). That was about it. I ran with air for the last couple laps, but I'm sure his tires were shot.
Next week then...
I thought SBC was a conspiracy to get me to like CM tires and everyone was in on it but aircooled, lol. My throttle started going off and on on lap 14 I could find a sweet spot and it would take off again. I got so shook up about fooling with it that I started making mistakes. Bumped the wall coming out of the tunnel hard enough to knock the toe out and then it pulled hard to the rt. I spun out on lap 15, and hit the wall again then got a sc penalty. I knew then it wasn't a conspiracy after all because I got passed by two guys on lap 16 I think it was.
In MX5 someone spun in front of me and I barely glanced off of his side as I passed knocking the toe out slightly. It didn't seem to slow my times down so I kept on going. MX5 is a hard fought class. The starts are wild.
We had fun at Tsukuba but no one was really set up for it. I started having brain fade late in the race and started screwing up. M10 got by me for the win. You were running some really consistent laps.
I thought SBC was fun. I think I hit nick head-on after he spun and then looped it into to the tunnel wall. There was nothing I could do. Then Brad had his turn, then Apex. i stayed out for an additional lap just because I didn't want to come out of the pits in a group of three cars and end up damaged all over again. I did a slow damaged lap (I think I topped out at just under 100 mph with all the damage) and then pitted the next lap. I managed a string a good consistent laps until I caught up to Apex. I think I caught him on lap 9 or so and was stuck behind him for a looooong time. There were sections were I was a lot faster but couldn't pass so I had to keep checking up. I made it by once or twice, but couldn't make it stick. Eventually I went for it through the turn going into the tunnel and hit the wall getting damaged a bit. I Followed him around the rest of the race just trying to stay in a straight line and got lucky on the last lap (benefited from mistakes and/or penalties), but I'll take 2nd. There was a time when Apex and I had contact (he was inside of me and I think I turned in on him a bit, but at the time I thought I was in the clear and he stuck his nose in there. Maybe I'll watch the replay.) There wasn't that much contact and we both survived, but I got the ramming penalty. Then a lap or two later, I came from behind him and made contact in a similar fashion, but this time he got the ramming penalty. I thought that both penalties were assigned to the wrong driver and neither seemed to be all that much contact. Strange.
The MX5 race was typical as I got damaged early. Then screwed up my pit stop and got comfort tires, so had to pit again the next lap. I settled in and turned a whole bunch of clean consistent laps and then caught GTP-CAM with a few laps to go. My lap times went down about 3 seconds a lap, but I couldn't pass him. I gave it my all on the last two turns of the last lap and got pretty close, but couldn't pass him.
I had fun in both, but I would really have more fun with light damage. Constant steering input to try to go straight is not all that fun and I damage my car every race it seems.
Tsukuba is going to be intense. That track is one that I always like, but it requires a lot of focus. Even the long back straight is not all that long. No time to relax. We have a lot of laps. MX5 was fun there, will have to try the Marcos out. There are a lot of corners that will be opportunities to excel at understeering I'm afraid.
What was everyone's fast time at Tsukuba last night? My gearing was TOTALLY wrong (didn't get a chance to change from Trial Mountain, never made it more than halfway through 5th gear) but i was still turning 1:07.5xx.
Brad, no worries on the MX5 race. I had made dinner right after i DNF'd the SBC race, and that gave me a chance to finish eating it. I was only slightly bummed because i am fast on that track, but it's not like i'm in danger of placing high in the series anyways.
I think Nick and i need to have a Drift-off.
Graefin, accept my friend request (concealer404) and i'll gift you a fully-prepped 110A. I was testing it last night before the race, and it's a LITTLE more squirrely than my Celica, but not that bad.
