I have one and tested it in stock form. It turned similar lap times to the other cars in the same PP range, 485-600PP. It has less than 400hp but handles great on sport tires. I doubt it would outclass the others but wouldn't know without modifying it up to 600PP.

I finally figured out how to enter your track Brad. It WAS downloaded and is now listed as one of my tracks. I tested my top candidate on it and that was fun It's a lot faster than I thought it would be and the most challenging track I've ever been on. The hilltop, blind, off camber turns will really get your attention. I ran 3 laps and received several bruises.

TJ... Valid point. How about it is any non-race, non-RM car.

I like that idea Brad. The ROC is pretty much for fun and bragging rights so the more open rules the better I think.

Indeed.

I tested it using the car I test for my tracks. If it can do the course, it isn't a good one. Also the car I'm using in the ROC if I can manage to qualify for it.

I took pictures of the attempt. The car: 561 hp, 961 kg, sports softs and no assists or abs.

Aside from being gorgeous, it also has the benefit of being absolutley psychotic.

1st turn is promising.

Drifting like a champ

You can guess where this will end.

Back in the natural habitat of a TVR, in the grass on the side of a track.

Made that corner its bitch

Unintentional donuts

And the Results of three laps:

So yes, damn good track, just when I thought the car was doing well I'd be sideways and in the grass.

I took time to look up the Series 1 thread and really enjoyed the pictures. The pony cars looked to be very difficult @ Cote ,d'Azure. It's hard to imagine racing those on that track with full damage: time to pit, time to pit, time to pit . . .

I ran a 60's Shelby Mustang in the seasonal Muscle Car Series today and I noticed that while "trail braking" approaching the hairpins @ the Indy road course you could hear the inside rear tire chattering. I never noticed that before. It's just interesting that they added that sound because a real car with a racing LSD would do that. Also, the sound engineers nailed the V8 sound. I made almost 4M credits running seasonal races this afternoon. Glad to get away from Tsukuba for a while.

So that means the R390 CAN be used???

I am not a fan of the 390, so I can tell you that I won't be running it. I am excited about seeing the F40. I love that car, I love the way it drives in the game... to the point where I can't bring myself to modify it in any way. They've captured the turbo lag perfectly, it's awesome to drive.

So, onto Round 2... I am consistently into the 53s with my Z06... anyone else want to share/compare times? I have my Bobs running the 9 hour enduro in the vette now, you know... testing the setup and finishing breaking in the engine. They are significantly slower, which irritates me, they run 58.9s.

I'll setup the Focus tomorrow.

Oh man, i HATE the way the F40 feels in this game.

And i saw that you've been playing Black Ops. We'll have to catch up on there at some point, too!

In reply to BradLTL:

I'm running about the same as you. My best is a 52.5.

I had this bright idea of a way to help me learn to brake better. I took both of my Series 3 cars to Lemans/no chicanes and ran back and forth on Mulsanne accelerating to max. and braking to a stop. I increased the brake pressure so that both F & R would lock up. I didn't really improve after an hr. of that so I'm back to where I was, very low pressure and poor braking performance. I think I'll invest in a wheel/pedal set up soon and see if that helps.

I got a 52.2 trying to chase GTP_CAM down the other day. I didn't catch him. I think consistent 53's would be great for the race.

I think my fastest is a 53.2, but I've been running the 8 lap Supercar event. The downside is that I don't get a clear track, but the upside is I get paid $423k for practicing. Through the traffic, I run 53.5-53.8ish times, but I'm not sure if that is online or offline physics?

Also as a side note. I noticed last night that Rubens Barrichello and Felipe Massa ran a virtual race as part of an online series... that gave me additional justification to be an "adult" that plays video games. :) Rubens is good BTW, it would be assume if he joined up for a race with us. I'd love to see how we measured up to a F1 driver.

I might be able to just break a minute if I get a perfect lap. I am in 1:00s, but as I was tuning and practicing I was dropping HP like a rock. Was down almost 15 by the end of the session! I had to do an engine rebuild already! Anyone else had that problem?

So should (can) I change cars from the FTO, or stay with it?

Tonight is going to make for some interesting racing. It is one of my least favorite tracks in the game (despite being the location of my only series victory). I think tires will play a much bigger role tonight. I know in the SBC race last series, tires almost changed the result. Had TJ pitted a few laps sooner, he would have caught me up and made the pass. This race is ~10 miles longer. Tight track, more powerful cars... it's got to lead to more tire wear.

So now the question is... run softs with a planned pit stop at some point in the race? Or run hards / meds and try and last? Then, if you run softs, when to pit?

Hmmmm....

T.J. SuperDork

I did limited testing with mediums. I think I could make them last the distance, but they would be slippery at the end. I'm thinking I'll go with softs because my track record tells me that more than likely I will have to pit at least once for damage repair anyway. If I could just make that stop mid-race instead of the end of lap 1 I'd be happy.

I like this track a lot, but it is hard place for passing. I think it is one the more intense tracks since it is so short and has a lot of turns. I'd rate Tsukuba about 1000x better than Monza.
