I'm running WAY higher than that on the bars...

My turn in feels a little slow, but it's pretty stable, even around the bumpy ring. I just anticipate a little bit and cut the apex a little earlier than normal.

I didn't like the turn in feel of the vette either. Steering seemed a bit numb. Much better for me with the controller sensitivity set to +2. Didn't really try ti tune it out as everything else seems to work well as is.

My Vette is currently MNP with fantasiagrun wheels. After seeing nicks car that was nearly identical I was thinking of a repaint. Does anyone have a color called passionate pink? I'll run with a pink vette if someone has the color to gift me. I painted a ZR-1 RM with it when I thought that was the car for this series. The only pink I currently have is called panther pink and it is not as pink as passionate pink.

EDIT: looks like I can buy a new Lexus LFA in passionate pink and have the paint chip from that. I'll do that later. I have two of the DTM LFA's, but do not have the street car version.

Passionate Pink is the color the Celica was, just as fair warning. It's SUPER pink. And yes, i had to kill an LFA just to get the color.

I want DTM LFA!!!!!!!!!

I'm still mad that the vettes stay two-toned. The front of mine is gold chrome and it's very pimp, though. Still trying to find suitable obnoxious wheels.

I bought one to win the A sprec DTM races. They are the cheapest eligible car as far as I know. Then I later won one for a prize. They are under a million brand new. Run the supercar seasonal event a couple times and buy one.

My ZR-1 RM with its passionate pink nose is a good looking car. I didn't know the celica was the same shade.

Oh i forget what i used to win the DTM series... Think it was a Vauxhall or something.

I'm still mad that they didn't do a "save race" feature for the A-Spec endurance races.

I did the Grand Valley 300 Saturday. Used my HH civic but with hard racing tires. They lasted about the same number of laps as sport softs, but were a handful of seconds faster per lap. I think the AI cars pitted once. I pitted 4 times.

I've spent a good amount of time tweaking the Z06RM today (I probably should do some real work). I don't find it numb at all. The Racing tires make it a lot more forgiving than sports/comforts, so there is a lot less to feedback on, that might be what you are experiencing TJ?

I used the Supercar Online Events to setup the base tune (and make money). Then I went to Monza and setup in the wet, and then came back and tweaked for the dry. I found there to be about a 15-20 second difference in lap time from wet to dry. I'll share my wet time for comparison... I am +/- 2 minutes dead. In the heavy rain, my feet seem to make more of a difference than the suspension settings... How late can I brake without locking up? How soon can I get power on without pushing wide off track? How hard can I mash the loud pedal without looping it? Depending on my ability to manage those 3 conditions I could make a few seconds of lap time either direction.

I'm finding i'm gearing my Z06 for higher speeds than normal just to get the traction earlier. I find on Tsukuba i'm fastest when the car is geared to do about 180, and i'm just grunting out of the corners in 3rd gear.

Probably mostly because i'm using the controller and it's on/off gas pedal.

Any of you tried the Z06 on the Ring yet? I wanna see how i stack up.

but it doesn't matter because I still just can't seem to stay in a room so

I haven't tried any real rain practice. I did about a quarter of a lap in the Civic and exited. Have to try the vette. I'm hoping for nice weather wednesday night.

I am going to let the room decide. According to AC it means a couple wet laps and the rest of the race dry... We'll see.

M10psi, graefin, and I were all doing some monza testing.

I am trying to decide between 3 cars...

Car 1:::: Lower HP, great in turns, not on straights, seems to save tires the best

Car 2:::: Low torque, higher HP. sacrfices some turning and a bit of tire conservation for straightaway speed.

Car 3::: HIGH POWER. Eats tires. on a power track, WOAH MOMMA! can pull some ridiculous times out. will the tire eating negate the speed though? in short, rocks out loud at monza, sucks at tsubuka.

All have advantages on different tracks. I am leaning towards car 2 right now. have to admit to being tempted to roll the dice on car 3 though...

Some shots from the start of the ROC SBC:

The start, with the Europa way ahead, not sure why it is ghosted:

Every one got very grouped up for turn 1, the Europa goes wide:

Rotary power takes the lead, the Elane has issue, I shot past the two cars right after this shot in the Pink Bomb:

The Cosmo goes wide on the down hill, the Smellica takes the lead, the Europa inspects the barrier... yep it's solid:

Snap oversteer on the turn gives the Cosmo a chance to remind me were my left rear fender is:

The first straight, the Cosmo starts pulling away.

I think I am gonna wimp out on car 3... Let me say this... in the dry at monza on SS tires... 1:55.2 with more out there... that said.. I have NO faith in being able to perform in the wet with it and it stinks on tighter courses and tire attrition is great.

Here is my HH entry:

I went with Brad's suggestion. I seem to be able to drive it pretty well, but I also tend to destroy tires in it, so that might be an issue (not for the first race though).

I still can't decide.... I have 3 cars i'm flip-flopping between.

The 7th gen celica GTS SS-II or whatever it is.

The DC5 Honda Integra Type R. (better car than the Acura RSX Type S, strangely)

The Renault Clio i was testing with Aircooled last night.

The Celica handles the best. The Honda is the fastest in a straight line, the Clio seems to be right in the middle, but is a bit more forgiving, and doesn't seem to eat tires at all. It's also the lightest, and has the most PP @ 539 right now, and i'm still breaking in the motor.

I'm not going to be running that ridiculous EP3 Civic Si. It's a MONSTER on the power tracks, but on the tight tracks, it destroys tires in short order. Something about 410hp i guess. As Nick saw, it's crazy RIDICULOUSLY fast at Daytona, but sucks anywhere tighter than that.

I was scanning the Forza 4 thread recently and there was mention of a new steering wheel setup with "power cells" in the peddles. If you recall, I asked if the ones that you all were using had them and the only reply I got was no. It was said that it was very expensive but high on the want list. I NEED ONE!!!

I have been trying to focus on braking in my practice this week and have come to the realization that it's my weakest link. Well, that, being smooth, being consistent, taking the correct lines, and car setup, just to mention a few other problem areas. So, for this particular race, no matter where I qualify, If I get in front of someone before the 1st. chicane, I think I should stay in my lane, brake conservatively, and that way, hopefully, I won't run into the back of anyone and if you know where I'll be, you won't run into the back of me. After things spread out a little I'll take my optimum line and you late brakers can find another way around when you lap me

Apex, T.J., and my practice session last evening revealed just how much better they are under braking than I am. I got off the line ok but they flew by me going into the 2nd. chicane and even though it appeared there was some contact between them, they made it through without a major pile up.

Lesson from the SBC Class of the last series... don't give up too much on HP otherwise you'll end up being a spectator for most of the races.

I would probably look really hard at car #2. See if running the mid-range turbo gives more torque without sacrificing too much HP. It might end up being the best of the 3.
