This guy! Boss man is closing up shop. I hand in the keys tomorrow. Hurray for the recovering economy!
On the bright side, I have an interview on Monday.
Boy will tonight's dinner conversation be fun...

In reply to Enyar:
I sure hope so. I did 3rd party administration for worker's comp disability claims. I basically case managed injured people and developed retraining plans to get them back to work in a new field.
Sorry to hear that, don't let it ruin the dinner conversation - especially as you already have an interview lined up.
In reply to fasted58:
Laid off, downsized, etc. The company is circling the drain. It sucks, especially since I was the top producer in 2012.
Thanks for the well wishes everyone. If I don't post tomorrow, SWMBO killed me. Look for the Javelin burning to find my remains.
Sorry to hear that. A lot of companies are downsizing. The current threat of sequestration has us a bit nervous (defense contractor). We are funded until August of this year, the contract runs out in 2014. After that? who knows......

That right there should take care of you. That's something I have never been able to claim.
I got laid off in 1985 by Rohm and Haas. I never really recovered. Stupid thing is there were several signs I should have realized early in the year. I had opportunities for several other jobs early in the year, but had no interest in because "I had a great job".

Out of 5 people.
My dads company was also funded by defense contracts...was...
Sorry to hear it Jav
Good luck on the interview!
Wow, so sorry to hear. Mine happened on Jan. 25th. I found out by phone I had no place to go the following Monday. Company was bankrupt. After 9 years, it was a bit of a shock. No severance, no nothing.
Silver lining?
Today I got offered a killer job, closer to home, better pay and nicer place.
Keep your head up, DO NOT burn any bridges, and look hard. There are good jobs are out there.
GOOD LUCK!

That blows man, sorry. My prediction, SWMBO will love you up and treat you well tonight not kill you. It can't be your fault if the boss shut up shop.
I take it this wasn't 100% unexpected from some of the posts you've made over the last few months
Sorry to hear. I quit my job back in december amidst some bullE36 M3- and it sounds like it's only gotten worse since I left. I haven't found a replacement yet, but fortunately for me, the wife's job is guaranteed money, it will ALWAYS be there, and the prospects are only looking up. I may very seriously be looking at becoming a f/t stay at home parent. Never expected that, but I always used to joke about it when she was in school.

I see a few small red flags with my current job......sorry to hear the crappy news.
You'll need to log in to post.
