Grey has been with us for about 13 years, we rescued him from the pound when we moved into our house. He had developed Cushing's disease a few years ago and that gradually took away his mobility. Recently his decline was getting worse to the point where he couldn't even stand up to eat, and eating was his favorite activity.
We had many good years together, but it is never easy to say goodbye. We will miss you lil' buddy.

It's hard to let go.

It's been almost 5 years since I lost my last buddy. I still miss him. The new guy had some big paws to fill, and he does a good job, just not the same job.

Shelter pets rule. So do mutts. Sounds like he did well choosing you guys for a family. Very sorry he's no longer with us, but it sounds like he enjoyed his time.

Sorry for your loss , Mojo. You did a wonderful thing when you saved him and he lived a full life because of it. There is something to celebrate there.
Thanks everyone for the kind words. He was a super sweet boy who loved to chase his orange ball, even when it was cold and white.
