While I don't have cable myself, I do enjoy the Hallmark channel sometimes when I travel... Golden Girls in the morning!

My ski buddies and I have been loving it for many years now. Breakfast and the Golden Girls while we eat breakfast and suit up for the slopes.

Did you find it necessary to use a flat mainspring housing, or use thicker stock slabs to fit your larger hands?

I just got into a disagreement about Hallmark and Lifetime movies with a co-worker and told them they are all the same thing just different names.

Female here who hates the Hallmark channel. In fact, I am so annoyed that the perfectly perfect perfection of the Hallmark channel has mesmerized both my most intelligent female friend, as well as my dumbest female 'frenemy' coworker, and every gal I know in between, that finally I did a Bing search trying to find women who feel the same way as myself. The result: The first link under my 'I hate Hallmark channel' search heading was this thread. Okay, not what I was looking for exactly--let's face it probably most of you are men--but it was nice to see at least that there are other humans out there whose words reflect so eloquently my own sentiment toward Hallmark. Thank you.

LMFAO

My wife now hates it as well, you aren't alone.

My favorite example is my proposal of the Christmas Lodge drinking game. Every religious mention or time they say Christmas, you take a drink. Fast track to alcohol poisoning and liver failure.

I hate it even more now that they seem to show the same xmas shows repeatedly & about every 3-months.

The only reason my Mother watches it is when there is nothing else on the tube. She swears it was written by twelve year olds

A twelve year old, then every other show used that script and they were rewritten by a 10 year old.

Welcome!  Hang out for a while, we're an interesting crowd in our own way. As witnessed by this thread which promptly devolved into a discussion of handgun frames.

They also played them again in early October, and of course non-stop from thanksgiving through New Years. I'm pretty sure they had some on about the time the pandemic broke out too.

5 years later, still no cable. Is there still a Hallmark Channel? As dark and depressing as many modern TV shows are, I'd figure they would be out of business.

The most entertaining thing is that Lifetime has completely given up on titling their movies and basically just uses the plot synopsis as the title:  Psycho Ex Boyfriend, or Killer Cheerleader or Stalked By My Dry Cleaner or whatever.

They also get credit for working in themes:  they played a whole weekend long marathon of "crazy mommy" movies for Mother's Day.

This was the #1 thing I loved about ditching the satellite years ago. No more hallmark channel.

I don't understand all the hate.

I like the one where there is a big city, career-driven woman who is up for a big promotion at work and she goes to a small town where she meets a local guy and they rub each other the wrong way. But eventually they fall in love and she realizes the small town bumpkins are not idiots and her career is not the most important thing above all else. Anyone else see that one?

Many MANY people prefer things to be safe and predictable and unchallenging. That's comfort and entertainment to them. Hence pop music, Thomas Kincaid paintings, etc.

Many people feel this way, but many people also feel that safe, predictable, and unchallenging things are lowest-common-denominator, status-quo-pandering drivel.

The Hallmark Channel in specific is pretty easy to avoid unless you have a spouse who is addicted.

Other things like inane pop music or any one of a thousand idiotic TV shows are a little harder to avoid unless you go full recluse.  It wears thin after a while.

This whole discussion reminds me of a joke by Liz Mele.  She was talking about 80's and 90's romantic comedies but I think it it apples here.  She said "I love them, but I know they depict men and relationships about as accurately as most porn depicts female arousal."
