It was 50 degrees today! I nearly forgot how much fun warm-weather mechanic's rash can be. No blood, though... I guess I wasn't trying hard enough. Anyway, plugs/wires/cap/rotor on the Roadmaster and transferring hardware from my stock '05 GTO hood to the scoop-free '04 hood I picked up.
How will you spend your next warm weekend?
It was 70 today. I wore a jacket.
I'm halfway through a clutch replacement on my 91' miata. At least I managed to get it all the way in the garage so I could shut it because I ran out of time to finish it tonight. Looks like I'll be busy after work tomorrow!

If it's above freezing, I don't wear a jacket. I know a fellow Chicagoan who spent some winter time in Florida and people looked at him like he had lobsters crawling out of his ears when he walked around with shorts and a t-shirt when it was 62F.
Again, above freezing: no coat.
We took advantage of the sun and warmth. my buddy and I dropped the A4LD out of our LeMons/BABE/Challenge Rustang.
we also bead blasted our rims and painted them, fabbed a couple brackets, and removed the differential.
oh, also no jacket.
Checking out the brakes on the Prelude and cleaning the christmas tree needles from the van.
I have one rule when it comes to jackets. If I am cold I put one on. I don't usually wear one when it is a balmy 50 degrees out though.

Got the replacement door for the Rx-7 welded up, changed the plugs on the P71, and helped out a buddy do front brakes on his GTP. Plus ogled an 11-second GN and a C6 Vert...

Ha Ha, I had the exact same experience when I lived in Santa Barbara CA, I wore shorts when it was 45 and the natives all had on parkas. Whatda mean 65 ocean temp is to cold to go surfing? I wore a shorty style wet suit and felt just fine, despite being stared at like a green martian.

We started work today on another Hong Norr catastrapiece. 10 hours, 1.5 cars stripped. I'm beaten and bruised, but I at least still have my eyebrows.

Washed the cars. They were rolling versions of the Bonneville Salt Flats.
Hoping to get outside tomorrow--probably a brisk walk in the park w/ the wife. 50 degrees is like summer after this frigid crap we've been dealing with.

Went to work without long johns for the first time in a month.
Had long johns on, fired up the garage woodstove, peeled junk off a V8, drank beer.
Repeat Sunday...

Saturday was about 60 degrees and awesome. A few friends and I replaced all the front wheel studs in the CTS-V, replaced the brake pads, grilled burgers for lunch and shot a few hundred rounds of .22LR, .44 Special and .45ACP. Couldn't have asked for a better day.

I put up crown molding on the cabinets-ALL DAY. What a E36 M3-ty job that is! The only time I got outside was to load an old oven into my Father In laws duallie. Today Im at work, so I can only enjoy the warm sun from the wrong side of the office windows. But maybe Ill give the G20 a bath on the way home...That counts right?
I am thinking today I will go the junkyard and find all the power steering stuff for my truck. I'm over manual steering.
I got up too late to enjoy the warm weather.. but I also worked 20 hours straight yesterday... now I am just sore
I reduced a particularly annoying tree to 18" sticks and logs.
I'm going to an autocross next weekend. I'll see if I can get the front strut brace in for it, it can only help and it would be interesting to see what kind of difference it makes by itself.

I got our Cooper S ready for trade-in...Took the Konis and hitch off. Mounted a tire rack in the trailer and put the new wheels on the LeGrand. I love productive weekends.
I put fricken expensive as hell rear calipers and pads on the Aurora (both froze up)
Put a new alt on the wife's van
fabbed and welded a new mount on the bike, installed the UltraBright 36bulb LED taillight. can't wait to blind tailgaters with it. nothing worse than having an SUV bumper inches from your rear wheel.
Rolled and flared my rear fenders 2 inches... cracked a lot of paint weeee!!
Primered my new front bumper.
Primered my sideskirts.
Painted my rear corner lights red to match the rest of the lights. (painting rare JDM parts other colors is AWESOME!)
Did brakes on a 2001 Civic.
Started cutting and buffing a 98 Civic.
Installed Tokico blues on the Escort.
Cooked a MESS of chicken on the grill!
It was productive.
I worked both days, today I'm going for a joy ride down to sayre to pick up my ipod and get cheaper gas soon

A fabricator friend dopped off a Honda VT750 engine at my shop (which he had installed in a golf cart) to check for possible head gasket leakage. A leakdown test confirmed this and spent the weekend pulling the top end down and cleaning parts. Front cylinder head damage is severe so he came back with another box of parts from another engine. Should have enough to piece it together.
Fabricated a broken throttle valve for one of my air tools.
Cleaned the wood stove/pipe.
Too bad it's Monday.
A bunch of friends and myself moved my donor miata tub (that is the straight body that all the parts from the wrecked car will bolt onto) from my ex's backyard. We had about 9 guys and lifted it up and carried it to my trailer. When you're lifting stuff like this, the more the better. We drank beer for about 6 hours after our 10 minutes of work. Hard earned, huh!? :)

Saturday was high 60's and sunny. I had to work.
Sunday was mid '70's and sunny. I went autocrossing. Got FTD. Yay!
Next weekend, we drop the new powerlessplant and dogleg box in the Lemons car.
