Hope everybody is having a great holiday weekend! (If you get one, that is)
That sucks guys, sorry to hear.
While my wife has been working all weekend (yay! break!) work on the car has been less than stellar. I bought wheels a couple years ago (Forgestar F14) and didn't go with my gut and ordered the wrong width. Ever since I've been hitting the lower a-arms at slightly less than full lock. At a recommendation I ordered 5mm spacers to help clear. Left turns still hit but right seems OK. Unfortunately now I'm eating the rear tires on bumps so the rears need to come off, debating on just pulling fronts, too. Then I need to decide whether to pull the fenders or order different wheels (which has been a bitch to find what I'm looking for...).

Good thing they are about at the end of their life... Spent two summers on them (unfortunately with only one track event).
Holidays? What are those? I'm at work today and tomorrow, working my normal 7AM-7PM shift, wondering how terrible my 50-mile daily commute will be due to Dorian. I'm not complaining because some people have it waaaaay worse than I do for the next few days.
I get "holiday" pay which is straight time but "holiday" hours which are different from PTO or sick time.
Meh. *Makes obscene hand gesture*
Have fun all. Im at home waiting for this berkin hurricane to move off the poor Bahamians and get on its way. Windows are mostly boarded up (dont block them all off until last minute, dark house is too depressing) and finishing up storm prep between rain storms.
It's Labour day up here.
I washed my house after cleaning the eaves troughs. Now I need to come up with soap for the garage siding, which is older and hasn't been washed for 20 years or so.
Saturday and Sunday were bee you tee full !! Sunny, light breeze, thermals kicked up nicely in the afternoon. Today? Monday is rain-thunderstorms. Gonna grill an Italian sausage and some sliced eggplant and make a pizza.
Have fun, be safe! BTW, traffic is horrible with all the campers, trailers and tourists headed south out of the mountains...
Dan
Friday I got sprung early so I got to rebuild my dryer. Friday night feuded with DW and it got ugly so I spent Saturday driving 500 aimless miles without even the radio on trying my best not to think about anything at all. Spent Sunday and part of Monday under DD#1’s crusty Miata swapping out the exhaust to clear CEL caused by lack of O2 sensor, and trying to get the parking brake working. Got those things mostly fixed and then had to mow the lawn. Took a shower in anticipation of going to the local BBQ place for dinner with the family, only to discover I somehow screwed that up and apparently DW and I are still feuding.
So, no, not one of my better holiday weekends.
Thursday I found this
By Saturday this happened
After much swearing this is what I see right now.
No more labor for Labor day.
Let's call it a wash.
We didn't do much. On Sunday, we won tickets to attend a soft opening for a new food hall place. 2 floors, 2 bars, 7 restaurants.
Free beer and free food. And both were excellent. Will return even when I have to pay.
Got together with the other players in the community band sax section for a rehearsal/fund day of playing/cookout. Six players, ten saxophones (I played tenor and baritone), much progress and hilarity (Blues Brothers medley, Sir Duke, I Feel Good, a Chick Corea song called Spain, many more), then Jalapeno Elk brats, bison burgers, salsa, and locally crafted excellent Irish Red beer and margaritas - a very good day!
