I've wanted to buy a lawyer a beer before, but only because my little brother recently became one.
Other than that, this is the only one.
I spoke to a lawyer yesterday to pursue a non paying customer. He told me $3000.00 to file a lien among other things. I offered $2000.00 and he said sure. So where do they come up with these numbers? Just throw it out there and see if it floats?
No beer for him.
Most of em should be bought enough beers that a nap on the train tracks sounds good. This guy gets an exception.
A fews years back my buddy got rear ended on his Harley and landed on the hood of the car. ATAGAT (well HD version) he was fine, but the bike was in the shop for a month over the summer and the fly by night insurance company the clown had was dragging their feet about repairs and a rental car. So he called an ambulance chasing compnay that advertises on TV.
The young lady they connected him to was refreshingly honest; His case was too small for them, but she would happily call over there and "rattle their cage," no charge.
The next day a rental was delivered and his bike was repaired in a week.
We have made lawyers a nessasary evil, but some of them still have a soul and a sense of humour. This one obviosly has both, I hope the viral buzz gets him lots of clients and he makes partner.

I wonder the same thing. My son in law's attorney wanted a $2500 retainer to take his ex-wife to court to reduce his child support (the child was now living with him). That would be about a 15 minute visit to family court and minimal background work.
