I keep getting emails demanding that I pick a plan by the end of July. I can Sign In to my account OR I can actually locate a plan that I want to enroll in but I CAN'T PICK THE PLAN THEN COMPLETE THE TRANSACTION. Their phone staff can't find the plan I locate on the website so I'm basically screwed.
Odd that you're being asked to pick a plan right now, this isn't open enrollment time. Is your current plan shutting down at the end of the month or something? They may not have coded in that you are authorized to choose a new plan outside of open enrollment...
What is the plan you're trying to pick? I'm not directly connected to anyone that can help, but perhaps I can look and see if I can help you help the phone staff find the plan.
Responded to your PM. Plan availability can vary down to the zip code, which may also contribute to what's going on.
Yeah it sucks, i went through a broker who knew the pitfalls of the system, and she took care of me. My buddy just got divorced and dropped off her insurance so I’m sending him to the same broker. No cost to use them, she gets a kickback from them.

I'm sure you know one of these statements is not true.
Good to know for anyone looking to buy insurance that health insurance pays salesman just like financial insurance does however.
(I guess all insurance is financial insurance at the most generic level).
I'm getting ready to go sign up for Medicare. I hope it isn't the same cluster berkeley.

Careful about letting them push you into a Medicare HMO.
RE the OP. I would be willing to guarantee that the roster of providers listed on their website is not accurate. If you have a doctor you really want to see, call their office to confirm they accept that insurance.

Personal beliefs on the system notwithstanding (i was paying $68/mo before “reform” and almost $300 after for the same plan) i gave her no money from my pocket for the hour we spent together getting coverage i guess is a better way to put it. At the end of filling everything out and picking a plan it asks if you were assisted by a broker/professional and when you hit yes they fill their stuff out and she said she gets a fee back from them for doing the work. FWIW we had to fudge our anticipated income higher by 10k because they kept trying to put my kids on medicaid. I can afford it, that’s for people who can’t.

All I'm trying to get is a catastrophic coverage with a stupid-high deductible.

None of this is surprising. I am just glad that I don't have to deal with it thanks to the rest of you paying taxes and my serving 20 years in the Navy.
In reply to T.J. :
As much as this pains me to say this, I miss Tricare. The VA hasn't treated me bad but there is one small VA clinic in my hometown. I have been on the waiting list to be seen there for 8 months. I literally have to wait for people to die to move up on the list. The other option is the regional VA hospital which is over 2 hours away. None of that is the VA's fault but damn, it sucks.
When I got out, I had no idea what a PITA getting insurance was. It was a totally foreign concept to me.
I tried to find the marketplace's plan ID for the plan you're looking for but came up empty. Sorry about that. But it may help on the phone if you can find the 14-character plan ID associated with that plan on the healthcare.gov site. It should be listed on screen when you go to look at that plan on the marketplace site.
I almost wish I hadn’t seen this post. This topic stirs up all kinds of ugly. Health insurance on the gov plan is e36m3 a million times. If a physician or hospital accepts x insurance it is highly likely that they will not except healthcare.gov from the same insurance company.
I have been trying to get surgery for the last four months but the procedure that I need to have is not performed at any of the hospitals that my insurance covers in my network. The surgeon is covered but only in smaller hospitals where they cannot perform the surgery. This is all under appeal as I write.
Bottom line. If you are on Obamacare and you’re sick you’re screwed.

Ask them about "Veteran's Choice" If you have to wait over a certain amount of time they are supposed to refer you to an outside contractor.

Those plans were largely eliminated. Well, not so much eliminated as replaced with plans that offer the limited coverage you describe, with solid gold cadillac premiums. Most doctors opted out of the exchange plans if they knew they could and were able to do so in time. If you failed to opt out, not only were you agreeing to accept those plans that paid 70 cents on the dollar, all your other contracts with that insurance company would go to the lower reimbursement rate. That is how they did in California anyway.
In reply to Toebra :
I was able to use the Veteran's Choice program eventually. Veterans are eligible if the VA cannot get them an appointment at a VA facility within 30 days.
The small VA community clinic here is at capacity, hence the waiting list.
They made me an appointment at the worst medical center in town. I waited 6 weeks for a 15 minute appointment where the LPN did nothing.

I was convinced at the outset this was designed to be a failure so people would accept single payer down the road.

Well, it worked. I'm ready.
