So I'm looking for a tool, it's really neat and pretty simple to explain.
It's basically a fat pen where the end is like a drill chuck. It's purpose is to tightly and quickly hold very short, narrow cylinders.
I originally saw one for sharpening short tungsten electrodes for TIG welding.
I need one that will hold 1/4" diameter rod.
I know these exist, I've seen them before, but it's an impossible thing to search... "pen sized tool with chuck in the end"
Any thoughts?

Would something like this work?

edit: little small, maybe not.

Hey, my link was a pin vise too, where's my thanks.
OK, everyone said "pin vise" so I won't bother.
There is a small one on the shelf over my work bench.
Used to drill carb jets.
Not used much anymore.
Pin vice. Pin Vice... PIN VISE. Repeating helps to commit it to my personal dictionary for "Stuff I wish I knew the name of so I could find someday".
Is this the tool you are looking for?:
