Cruising through facebook marketplace I find this thing. No idea what it is, not sure I want to know really. But I'll ask the hive mind here.
The seller says he knows nothing about it, but it appears to be missing one piece (there seems to be a hinge that isn't attached to anything) and that he got it in a storage unit.
I think that's some form of massage table.
You should probably bleach the E36 M3 out of that thing if you decide to bring it home though.
If only it could talk. The stories it might tell!
It had clips on the "front" end as well, on the upper corners. My bet is it's some kind of gynecological examination table, and those clips are for the leg stirrups; the lower pad is so a practitioner can lean down on one knee and "in" for comfort.

I ain't buyin' it. When's the last time you saw door hinges and window sash locks on a piece of medical equipment? It doesn't look particularly old. Definitely homemade.

One of my standby ambulances 6 years ago, unit 996. Equipment doors wouldn't stay shut and were wallowed out from decades of use, so one day posting I got tired of the rattling and we spent ~$6 at menards for basic hinges and one of those slide-bar bathroom locks to keep it all shut.
Plenty of E36 M3 in a hospital even gets jury-rigged until replacements are found.
Oh, easy - That is used with these tools as a GRM torture device.
comment deleted. this is a family place.
Ok, so mine wasn't the only mind that went there I see LOL.
It does look like it needs to be submerged in bleach for a few hours before, well, anything else.
Curling bench? Elbows up top, butt on the bottom, pull 30 lbs up to your face.
Reverse image search brings up exactly what we all think it's for.
