Ha! I thought about Clyde ( My name's David) but I use it on every forum in the world, so...maybe not.

Charlie is kinda common....

What'dya think of Mickey, after Pitt's Pikey character in "Snatch"? Seems a good one for a gypsy dog. When anyone asks what breed he is, we just tell 'em Pikey.

SWMBO just suggested Corbin ( Dallas, from The Fifth Element)

My dogs never end up being called by their names. I have two right now:

Official name: Sir Isaac Newton alias Newt also known as Noodles, The Executioner (murders everything that lives in the yard)

and

Official name: Rigby alias The Wriggler (wiggle out of the tub)also known as Rigbadiggle (digs the E36 M3 out of the yard), The Hunter (chases quarry to the Executioner)

All aliases are due to my children. The dogs only come when I whistle. Probably because they don't know their own names :)

How about naming him after a dog from literature? I suggest either Mutt or Strange

If I was naming a dog from that movie it would be Dr. Kenneth Noisewater.

Give him a Fall/Halloween-related name for the season. We adopted Lantern, and kept his seasonal name that the rescue shelter gave him.

William S. Preston, Esquire.

Or Bill for short. My neighbor in Denver had a Bernese Mtn Dog named Steve, it was probably the most hilarous name for a dog, ever.

Man, I thought my immediate and extended family were the only ones that did that. Here's the past and current "Official name"/"actually called" list:

Daisy/Super Ca,

Buddy/Dingus,

Bruno (a very small Poodle)/Booter,

Alley/Green Dog(Nephew colored the dog with a green marker),

Pepper/Gaff,

Peaches/K.M.,

Napolean/Dumb

P.S. - on the initial question, dog looks like a "Lenny" or "Bruno" to me.
