I have a shocking confession to make, but first things first:
This is my official re-introduction. I've been off and on this board since 2008, but never really jumped in. I'd like to change that now.
My name's Rabi, and I live right around Baltimore. I've been a car fanatic for a while now, and this board has consistently proven to be the best place to find reliable, proven advice.
I own two cars, both of them are Honda Civics. The 1995 is my commuter car, and the 1991 is, well... It broke down last summer and I couldn't get it going again, so I intended to sell it. I never really got around to it though (which is definitely a pattern with me.) So it may become a project car at some point. The main thing preventing me from that is the fact that I hate working on cars.
That's right, I said it. It's taken me years to admit it, because when I was younger, I always wanted to be one of those cool guys with their custom/restored cars, but I hate sitting outside in the cold/heat wrenching on stuff. I suppose a garage/lift/power tools/etc might make the job more enjoyable, but I doubt it. I'd rather be driving than wrenching.
I can do (and have done) a fair amount of basic work, I've replaced clutches, exhaust systems, and so forth, and I'm always willing to do the necessary work to keep my car going, but I can no longer pretend I enjoy it.
That being said, I hope to be a contributing member of this little community. While I might not like the work, I certainly love the cars.

I like your signature. I wonder if Jackie Stewart was trying to imply that it's really difficult and you feel very inadequate when you don't pull it off.

From The Observer
Which sportsman is most preoccupied with sex? Jackie Stewart, in his heyday, was a contender. The great racing driver certainly sounded eerily like of Swiss Tony from The Fast Show when, in 1972, he described the art of cornering thus: 'Cornering is like bringing a woman to a climax. Both you and the car must work together. You start to enter the area of excitement at the corner, you set up a pace which is right for the car and after you've told it it is coming along with you, you guide it along at a rhythm which has, by now, become natural.' Steady on Jackie.

Now I'm just getting a mental image of the berms on an apex smoking a cigarette.
What if you think you've hit the perfect apex, then find out later that the corner was only faking???
