I've had some sort of facial hair for nearly 20 years, and I've never paid for a haircut. I do splurge for the pricey blades, but since I only shave a little on my neck and a little on my cheeks, they last a LONG time. And my clippers were a birthday gift. I might spend $20 a year on cranial grooming, and that's pushing it.
I use a 7 blade razor with a diamond handle, shaving soap made from organic unicorn tears that is applied with hundred dollar bills and a special after shave lotion made from baby seals.
I only grow a beard during hockey playoffs.
I was given an electric razor a long time ago. It still works, but since I have a beard it doesn't see much use other than when I am in a hurry and forget to shave my neck in the shower.

Please, I've been not shaving for a hell of a lot longer than being hipster was a thing.
Stop giving hipsters credit for things, they need to have no reasons to exist.
It's very hipster to point out how you were hipster before hipster was hipster, hipster.

Bur Grizz does it for manlyness, not irony, thus not making him a hipster.

I will actually go one better on being a super cheap ass. I usually had my hair cut every 2 weeks at about 20.00 a time. I became fed up with it and picked up some oster classic 76's. I haven't step foot in a barber shop in 3 years. after the 160 for the clippers it saved me about 1300 and the convenience of cutting my hair before work if i think its shaggy and these clippers will never die or get dull like the cheap ones at target or walmart.
for razor blades... I've got some stupid expensive one (quattros maybe?) that my mother in law bought me 2 1/2 years ago for Christmas... I've used them two or three times tops in that time frame... my wife has used more of the blades then I have...
as for hair... I found if I grow it out for 2-3 years it gets to be long enough that I can cut off 20 or so inches and donate it to locks of love and the shop cuts it for free... as a kid I was a military brat... up until college I was used to paying $4 for a cut... once I got married and lost my military privileges I went much longer between cuts after I discovered they wanted $15 a cut :-/

I use a double edged safety razor, I get 50 blades (2 short of a years worth!) for less than what 8 of the 5 bladed monstrosities cost.
And get a better shave to boot.
I've been using the same Mach3 blade since February.
Mainly because I never bother to go get more.
I use my mach 3s until the blue indicator thing falls off and I know for sure they are dull. Been thinking about going straight razor, but they take too long. Goatee since 2004 for me.
