I wanted a casual black watch that I could wear with just about anything, and I wanted to try a nice thin, mechanical, hand wind only watch. I hesitated on this one for a long time because 38mm is generally too small for me and the face is a little cluttered, but I'm actually surprised how much I like this Hamilton Khaki Field Mechanical. I've been wearing it every day.
I still haven't bought one. I've looking at the stuff from Original Grain, because I really like their designs. But haven't been able to make myself pull the trigger yet.
I've never worn a watch in my life! Never, not once, but I do own one. For my 50th birthday, my fiancées mother bought me a watch. I said it was totally useless, like me buying her a gym membership! They didn't see the humor in my response, but true nonetheless. This thread made me go look for it and this morning I found where it's been hiding. Apparently I should have been nicer with my words all those years ago. I know as much about watches as I do about computer programming, but I took it out of the box and did some research. It's a 2005 Longines HydroConquest in its original box with the warranty card, owners manual, still wrapped in the factory plastic/paper with the tags affixed. Pretty cool I guess, but again, I don't wear watches, so it went back into its hiding spot and won't see the light of day for another 20 years...............
Lately I find myself lusting over the radio set Citizen Eco-Drives...must have a bracelet band, no leather for me, thanks
My day to day is a Sony G-Shock that has been through quite a lot of abuse and is still going strong...

you just need to wait until it becomes collectible or gets famous because a celebrity wore one.
The Rolex Daytona was kind of an ugly duckling that didn't sell well but Paul Newman had one so it became very collectible after he passed. This guy had one and never wore it, kept the box and everything
After doing a bit too much window shopping at the watch stores in Vegas, I've decided to ditch my Apple Watch and try out a life of not being constantly dinged with notifications. I used to be into watches before they got smart, so I'm dipping my toe back into the water.
This arrived a few days ago, bought for $199 open box like new condition on Amazon. It's my first automatic watch ever, and I may be hooked.
This is a developing story, and eBay listings have been added to my watchlist....
Dropped a lowball bid on this guy and won it. Supposedly a working, titanium bracelet watch for under $200. It's beat up but supposedly you can polish titanium? Guess we'll see when it arrives.

Me too! I wish I could have afforded both.

Love this as a novelty but I think I'm finding I'm too cheap for the watch game lol.

Yeah these should have been $100 quartz watches, but the first run of SpongeBobs now sell for $1-2k so...
I've been wearing my Tudor Black Bay Monochrome almost daily for the last 2 months. The BB58 wears slimmer/lighter on-wrist, but I prefer the starker visuals of black/white compared to the faux gilt standard Black Bay color way. Still not in love with the pretend riveted bracelet, but felt the oyster-esque matched the watch better than the Jubilee-look one.
Today's selection is my trusty Citizen. Every single scratch/gouge/dent/etc. is from time spent in the garage, but after a fresh capacitor it's running perfectly again.
My first titanium watch. Really happy with how light/thin it is. It's fairly scratched up, but cheap forgives a lot of sins
I may have asked before, but forgot.
Anyone have any experience with the watches from Original Grain?
I recently came really close to buying a limited edition Citizen, but backed out of the $2600 once I put it in my cart.
Early birthday present to myself. Another Bulova for my collection. (Seems like it should have a "20" in a white circle somewhere on the face).

Wow that's stunning!!
After a mistyped tracking number caused me to think it was lost, I got a 1941 Gruen Veri-thin today. Good timing as the band arrived at the same time. Band is a little more orange than I expected but I'll see how it wears on me.
