And he survived. It shut down I-675 in both directions though and caused many people in our office to be late to work.
(Waylon Jennings voice) " Right about now, the Duke boys are thinkin' 'We sure didn't need that 5th Bed Bull!'"
Saw that on the news today. I guess he wasn't even being chased, just driving like a jackass and happened to crash in front of a cop. I'm amazed by the number of people going WAY over the limit every time I drive 675.

The report notes the driver was "alert and conscious" after the wreck.
Too bad he wasn't before the impact.
"The force of the crash broke the car into three pieces"
I saw a lot more than 3 pieces. That is one lucky dude. Hopefully he'll make a full recovery and learn his lesson from this.
Wow. Passing cars at over 100 MPH on the left median. Musta been late for work. Doesn't say much for his car control skills either.

Wally just ended the caption contest!

Looking at it, I don't think that there would have been any difference if he were going 30 or (what looked like) about 120. Only thing that would have "helped" him would have been if he were going fast enough to clear the bridge.
Stupid is as stupid does, he was going to hit that bridge. He made no effort to avoid it that I could tell.
If he were only going another 30 mph or so maybe he could've cleared the overpass. The landing would've still sucked, but better than hitting the concrete abutment.
If the cop would have moved out the the way when he flashed his brights there would have been no crash. I can see some story about the throttle being stuck. I had an 85 ta and the throttle stuck once. I just turned the car off then called a tow truck and my mom to bring me new pants.

$50 says he was doing fine until he realized he was about to overtake a cop car and freaked.

At a certain point, the size is small enough to make it too hard to count.
In this case that would be about a foot long...
If the car hadn't turned sideways in mid air, it woulda been ugly. I mean he made a mess all over the road, but they probably woulda been scraping him off that bridge abutment
