Back in the day I had a cousin who had a band.
One day he came over and was flipping through my note books and really liked one of the songs I written. He asked if his band could use it, so I said sure. About a week later he came over and brought me a CD with the song on it to see what I thought. Turned out great. Well when he left I drew a little picture on the CD so I'd know what it was. The next time he came over he thought the art work was cool and they made it the front cover.
A few months went by and they invited me to one of their gigs. When they played the song I wrote, they got tons of cheers and everyone who bought a CD at the end of the night said they loved my song.
That's awesome. Dan, the bassist for Five Eight, once played one of my basses in a show--not quite the same, though, but still a cool moment.
