Tell me how you know this. I'm not challenging, I'm asking. I've been doing some reading and haven't found a definitive answer yet, but what I've been reading is leading me to think it'll kill them. But I'd like to know before I work on a plan B.

Or maybe I'll just powder coat the whole thing. But I have no idea if it'll leach any nasties into the water....again.

This entire idea intrigues me more and more, but the limited displacement of a rotor housing would really mean you could keep a beta fish or something in there.

I'm planning on two housings, but yeah, a Beta or maybe a few small tetras like head light tail light fish or similar.

Just cut caps out of acrylic and glue them on with clear GE silicone. I'd run the block through a dishwasher first, or at minimum, give it a good long soak in a big tub of hot water and dawn dish soap, then rinse it a long, long time. Don't want to kill the fish, yo.

I don't know anything about fish and chrome, but if you use a housing from an RX-8, the only holes you have to plug are the spark plug holes. The intake and exhaust ports are on the end and intermediate plates which I assume would be replaced with plexiglass so you can actually see the fish.

In reply to tomtomgt356:

That may be true, but a peripheral port fish tank would be much cooler.

I dunno, I think I'd prefer the quieter standard ports for a fish tank.

So would his neighbors.

I laughed so loud that my wife had to come and see what cracked me up.

Or, get two housings with peripheral ports and set then side by side. Connect the ports with an acrylic tube.
