I'm always confused on clutch adjustment when you have a hydraulic clutch. Bleeding?

1984 Datsun 300zx 50th Anniversary Edtion. Car runs and drives good Turbo spools up nice. I drive it every other week about 40 miles. everything works on the inside the dash all the lights power windows power locks adjustable susspeion both headlights flip up etc. car has t-tops clean under carriage. Timing belt has been changed. Clutch needs to be adjusted and has a few cosmetic flaws as you can see and it will need some tires for more information

Probably the clutch is on the way out.

Typical hydraulic clutch problems that will be marked as "needs to be adjusted":

  • Slave or master cylinder on the way out
  • The system is drawing in air somewhere
  • The flywheel/clutch has just been changed and the engagment point on the pedal is now too low or high.

I would translate that as "Transmission shot, no syncros left."

Or the firewall is so rusty it just flexes out when you push the pedal.

Or if its like most of the stuff I see on CL, the slave cylinder went out, but instead of spending $38 to get a new one I devised a system of pulleys and levers the operate the clutch using parts from a claybird thrower and hardware from an old dresser and I bet it will work perfect with just a little more tweaking.
