digging this one

It's actually the only reason I listen to the song. I don't listen to songs unless I find the lyrics agreeable in one sense or another... part of the reason I refuse to listen to Nicklecrap.

Don't worry it's next, were nearing the end of the 80's revival now. As soon as the children of the 90's kids are old enough to start their own bands it will hit.

All of my drawers are for T shirts.

i must be a hipster because i have 2 drawers full of t shirts- most of which don't fit me any more.. lots of Metallica, Megadeth, Suicidal Tendencies, and things like that.. my taste in shirts has evolved over the years- i no longer wear band t shirts, and instead by 3 packs of Hanes pocket T's at Wal Mart in various colors..
I, too, have been rocking to Foster the People. I heard it on a local station, grooved whilst driving and then finally found the lyrics on youtube.
Personally I like "Call it What you Want" better http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vSEYrnUSi6I
I've also been loving Brett Dennen lately. Specifically "Comeback Kid" and "Sydney" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mtLKlB6XcC4

Darn you to heck! I woke up with that song stuck in my head this morning.
Usually the two songs most likely to get stuck in my head are Hey Joe or Seven Nation Army.
I heard one of my most problematic earworms on NPR this morning--Diana Nyad, the 61-year-old who's planning to swim to Cuba (!), said she uses songs in her head to help her maintain a rhythm while swimming. Her example was "A Horse With No Name," which gets stuck in my head whenever I'm doing something repetitive for a long time.
Argh! There it is again. Help!

The universal antidote to "transtunification," which is when someone puts a song into your head merely by suggesting it, let alone singing it:
Flock of Seagulls' And I Ran: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uUjIA3Rt7gk
You'll go for the awesome 80's hair and sweet synth sounds, but you'll be driven away by some of the least imaginative guitar work ever foisted on the listening public...
In reply to Woody:
You are an evil, evil man.
Therefore, you leave me no choice: "Sweet, Caroline..."

Stop it! Stop it! I'm a Yankees fan!
Africa by Toto.

Oooo. I like.

I'll see your Africa and raise you one Rosanna:

No. The correct answer (100% serious here) is "Take Five" by Dave Brubek: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vmDDOFXSgAs
Weird time signature and syncopation make it ultra catchy. No lyrics means it never really gets annoying. And, really, it's one of the greatest pieces of Jazz music of all time.

Back when Jesse Ventura was voted in as governor of Minnesota, he had America perform at his inaugural ball, along with Warren Zevon. It was pretty weird.
For some reason every time i hear the Black Keys, my mind immediately jumps to Cold War Kids.

I never, ever listen to the lyrics in a song. The voice is just another instrument to me. I couldn't care less what the words are.
I prefer instrumental music.

Interesting. While I like electronic music nowadays (among other things), my one friend noted how ALL of it tends to have vocals with actual lyrics, rather than using the voice as simply another instrument.
In reply to Wonkothesane:
Hadn't heard that song in ages. I like this one by the Eels, too: Hey Man (Now You're Really Living)
I've had this stuck in my head all day Money Grabber
Must've seen this one 20+ times in the last 7 days; She's Enough
