I had the same experience with my SE-R.  I knew I was selling it to an idiot.  I knew he would crash it.  He did, and then had the nerve to have his MOM call me to see if I could "fix the ticket".  No, I'd actually like to prosecute your numb-skull son personally for ruining a pretty sweet car.

Five years later, my son still reminds me that, "I told you not to sell that car, especially to him."

I never did until i sold my 81 marquis. I was the second owner and paid 400 bucks because the car had carb issues. It inherited leftover parts from my capri but was the best daily i ever owned. Sold it for 1200 figuring it would live for a while. 5 months later i got to see it with stacks out the hood being derbied.(turns out 2 doors are special too the derby crowd). Now if i care about a vehicle and time spent on it icant bring myself to sell them to anyone but friends or people i think will actually enjoy them.

Some savage derbied a two door panther platform car?  That’s just wrong.  I keep my eyes open for an 87 2 door in decent shape (last year of the 2 doors, but new enough for multi port fuel injection), but haven’t seen one at a price I’m willing to pay, barely ever see them at all.

A couple years ago I found an 80s 2 door crown vic with manual trans for $1500 or so. I didn't quite have the money to swing it so I didn't pursue it, still wish I would have found a way to make it happen.
